Firstly, at minimum it seems foolish to place the “server” whatever that might mean just a stones throw from the entity that supposedly compromised it. It is like placing the hen-house near the fox den. If the Russians are so evil then why make it easier for them? Also physicality is key. It might be more isolated from attacks here in the US than in some third world country.
Secondly, I know why it was placed there. To keep it out of the jurisdiction of the FBI who might be able to determine who actually compromised it (if at all).
It seems to be mainstream knowledge now that “the server is in Ukraine.” I believe that one of the MSM reporters was asking about it in an interview. Granted, they are MSM fake news however when they do lie, they always lie against us and not in our favor. Twisted logic but it makes sense.
Because the black hats found safety in Ukraine? They didn’t want to actually destroy the digitally recorded dirt they had, so they stashed the server(s) where “no one” would find it?
OK. Apparently overstated the speed. 50 megabytes per second download speed, not GBS. Still 5 times faster than available internet speed at the time. Still had to be downloaded onto a device, not hacked.

Not exactly what you’re asking, but the files probably have a download date (modified date?) as well as a file creation date. The size of the file divided by the length of time between the download dates on each file would tell you the download rate, supposing they were all downloaded in the same session to one storage device.

What particular server are you referring to? Whose? What role does it play in all this?
The math in the CrowdStrike report was so blatantly off, at the time of the alleged "hack" there wasn't (and still isn't) a technology capable of copying data at 10GB/sec.
And that was just for starters all the things that were so blatantly wrong in their "report."
It was picked apart down to the molecular level here on FR by people who's careers are built on Internet and Computer Security. CrowdStrike should've been put out of business after publishing that POS. The FBI should've laughed their asses off at them, seized the DNC's servers and done their own forensics.
That the FBI took CrowdStrike's "word for it" that the DNC's servers were hacked simply underscores how corrupt and incompetent the FBI's leadership was and remains.
What about the AWAN BROTHERS????? Those MUSLIMS had ALL THE INFO ON THE DEMOCRATS....ALL OF IT! Their company, the USED CAR BUSINESS, initials were CIA!!! CIA!

The FISA court for all its deficiencies probably would look skeptically at a claim that a CIA agent who was reporting his contacts with Russians to the CIA was actually the person that the FBI was basing their counter-intelligence warrants against a presidential campaign on.
Saying he was not an agent of the US government makes his actions look suspicious, not the legitimate activities they were.
It is analogous to the FBI seeking a warrant to investigate someone who kept asking for the plans to government facilities who actually was an architect working for the GSA, but the FBI claimed he was just some suspicious guy, and not a government employee tasked with looking at the plans for a legitimate purpose.
