The editor-in-chief of Christianity Today, Mark Galli, wrote an editorial calling for the impeachment of President Donald Trump.
In my view, this editorial only serves to confirm one of the sadder realizations of my life: that religious conviction guarantees neither moral clarity nor common sense.
The gist of the editorial -- and of most religious and conservative opposition to President Trump -- is that any good the president has done is dwarfed by his character defects.
This is an amoral view that says more about Galli than it does about the president. He and the people who share his opinion are making the following statement: No matter how much good this president does, it is less important than his character flaws.

Great points. Another example is all of the Christians that voted for Jimmuh Carter just because he said he was born again. Jimmuh is arguably one of the major facilitators of genocide in the history of the world.

I have been carefully reading his commentary on Exodus.
He is a Jew (as I am) and his book has a number of arguments that show how the Judeo-Christian foundation of the United States cannot be taken away without incalculable destructive influences on our way of life. Talking points every fellow conservative should know about.
Mark Galli has deep connections to Soros. The fact that CT is fine with what this operative wrote says much about how compromised the magazine is. Nothing is safe. Nothing.
As soon as I saw it was CT, I was not surprised. I gave up on CT about 5 years ago, realizing it was a left wing screed. The editors decided to take a leftward slant to their views on Christian thinking.
Someone should tell Galli to take the plank out of his own eye. I have said particularly crude and unchristian things so many times I can’t even count. I may have never SAID what Trump said about pootang but I have certainly THOUGHT it, and it is clear what I think according to God is as bad as what I do or say.

27. Infiltrate the churches and replace revealed religion with “social” religion. Discredit the Bible and emphasize the need for intellectual maturity which does not need a “religious crutch.”
28. Eliminate prayer or any phase of religious expression in the schools on the ground that it violates the principle of “separation of church and state.”
