Houston Police Union: Tale of a Broken System
The Houston Courant ^ | December 16th, 2019 | J. Gamaldi

By now you have likely heard of the murder of Sgt. Kaila Sullivan of the Nassau Bay Police Department. While attempting to take a violent gang member, with a lengthy criminal history, who had several open warrants into custody, she was viciously run over and killed. The suspect in this capital murder of a police officer, then went on the run for two days resulting in a city and county wide man hunt, that even had federal officials traveling to Louisiana looking for him. This search captivated the City and had everyone on edge on where this heinous criminal may be hiding. Based on an anonymous tip, likely spurned by a $20,000 reward offered by Crime Stoppers, the suspect was found here in Houston and arrested without incident. That should have been the end of the story, but unfortunately not in Harris County.

The suspect in this case, Tavores Henderson, has a lengthy, violent criminal history. At the time he murdered Sgt. Sullivan he was already out on multiple felony bonds for Agg. Assault Family Violence, Felony, Felony Evading and an open warrant for Assault Family Violence. He had regularly violated the terms of his bond agreements, with no repercussions. In fact, this suspect was so arrogant you can easily find social media posts of him bragging about being out on the streets.

Here is where the story takes a disgusting turn. After he was apprehended for the murder of Sgt. Sullivan, he appeared before a PC magistrate to set his bond. For those of you who are not familiar of what a PC magistrate is, they are hired by a panel of Judges (felony and misdemeanor) and they are typically attorneys or retired Judges. They are not elected and are not accountable to the people.

I thought the ‘Rat DA in Houston was already wholly-owned by Soros? Is that Harris County?

Yes, Kim Ogg is the Harris County DA, and I think Soros did a big ad buy for her. But Soros originally backed her primary opponent, who was much farther to the left. Soros probably backed her in the General because she is a lesbian, but she is not particularly liberal. I know her personally, and she certainly isn’t Part of the “progressive prosecuting” program of the other Soros-backed DAs around the country. She’s actually serious about fighting crime, and has been butting heads with Lina Hidalgo over hiring new prosecutors.

She has a lot of primary challengers from the left this time around, and I expect that Soros will be behind one of them. Probably Carvana Carter.

“...habitual criminal.”

This is a phrase that should be removed from the lexicon.

Three felony convictions/’strikes’ will get the offender a trip on old sparky, within 72 hours after conviction. No appeals, no age limits, no ‘cruel and unusual punishment’ crap. Just old sparky and a cremation later.

Rather than pimp for your own website to get hits, you should have simply posted the entire article at FR.
