You ready to start fighting back?
Sam Rockwell asks the title character that question deep into Richard Jewell.
The Clint Eastwood film recalls how the FBI and media aligned to punish a security guard who saved lives at the 1996 Summer Olympics. Only the film feels like Eastwood is channeling a certain Commander in Chief.
Conservatives have spent the last three years fighting against a culture calling them racist, sexist, homophobic and more. Theyve been maligned for wanting to keep the borders secure and jobs from fleeing overseas. Reporters and celebrities alike led the charge against Red State America, forgoing the truth for progressive narratives.
Its well past time for a Hollywood movie to take their side. Only a rebel like Eastwood could fight back in Oscar-worthy fashion.

Clint Eastwood is a very rich old man. He has nothing to lose, and is beholden to no one.
Freedom’s just another word for nothing left to lose ...
Two movies I actually want to see this Christmas.
This one. And Midway.
Add Ford vs Ferrari and I’m in.
So, he is your normal innocent person.
They talk because they can not imagine that anyone would think they did something wrong when they KNOW they didn't.
Just tell the truth and everything will be all right. How many times did we hear that as children? It's a lie but you will not convince your average innocent person of that. They are honest, trusting, open and unafraid because they are innocent.
An old cynic like me instinctively moves to protect them because they represent what is good in this world and it is a crying shame there are not more like them.

Clints movies consistently turn a profit for Warner Bros, and he has a free hand to make anything he wants, his way. Ive read a number of his scripts in production for the studio, and no executive gives him notes, which is virtually unheard of.
His show put me to sleep. Very young children seemed to like it.
That was who it was aimed at. Very young children.
And “1917”.
Kris Kristofferson, is that you?
That’s funny. My wife did fall asleep during the movie.
I’m sure not Janis Joplin ...
A crazy summer was 1996 with Clinton closing out his first term. I think I discovered FR not long after. I really enjoyed The Mule and look forward to seeing this.
Welcome to Freerepublic. Do you work in Hollywood?
We are looking forward to it. We’ll probably go on opening night.
Midway is something I want to see. and I must say that I’ve never seen an Eastwood film that wasn’t outstanding.
Interesting...and surprising. One would think that Hollywood would despise Eastwood and try to stymie him whenever possible.
He’s lucky social media wasn’t a thing back then.
Yes.
