Marriages are complicated. Pretty common to have all sorts reasons to be a jerk and plenty enough grief to pass around on both sides. I just we he would learn to shut up rather than making things difficult on his wife.

One of the more remarkable stories along these lines involved the ill-fated annulment of the marriage of Joseph Kennedy II to Sheila Rauch Kennedy. In this case the Boston Diocese actually granted the annulment, but his non-Catholic wife successfully appealed the nullity ruling.
It was Ann who dated Dinesh and he was very serious about marrying her; she wasn’t interested in him in any way. She’s always be far more interested in idiots like Bill Maher, The son of the man who started HUSTLER magazine, and the like. There’s something “wrong”/off with her!

Actually that’s not exactly true... You can have the marriage annulled in the church if it was abusive, never consummated or other grounds. Then you are free to remarry even within the church.
My grandfather was able to get his marriage to my grandmother annulled, even thought they were married for decades and raised 4 children together, had divorced, and remarried each other a second time...
Still not sure what grounds he used for that one... but the Church did grant the annulment.
