Lots of GOOD Catholics get divorced or have their marriages annulled; so do middle of the road ones and bad ones too.

None of us know them; however, it's a pretty good assumption, that they have common interests other than politics and that they are VERY lucky to have found and fallen in love with each other. They've been married for a long time and there has NEVER, to my knowledge, been anything ever said or written about them, to disprove my observations from afar.
I remember when they got married and Rush went to the wedding. He was very happy for them both and even said that old Snakehead was very very nice to him.

She is not a Kennedy and does not control the local Bishop, so in her case annulment is not an option, nor is divorce.
Divorce is an option for a practicing Catholic. Remarriage is not.

I'd say it's actually quite simple.
Like I said, she is not a Kennedy and controls the local Bishop. This means she cannot divorce or annul her marriage absent Bishop dispensation.
Divorce civility but she would still be married in the eyes of the Lord.
Remarriage can’t be done because in the eyes of the Lord (and Church), she is still married.
He’s a sadist and she’s a masochist; nothing else explains this situation...they’re both just NUTS!

Absent being a Kennedy it is not an easy this to do, and rightfully so.
You don't have to be a Kennedy to get an annulment; many people get them who are neither pols nor extremely wealthy! And yes, I actually DO know a few such people and in one case, I know of a person whose priest suggested the annulment, for cause, but that person declined it and just had a secular divorce. In that case, neither remarried.
Add to that, I had a relative who was a priest and he told some stories about annulments, which I have no reason to believe weren't true/factual.
