Authorities the world over remain wholly indifferent to the recurring phenomenon of converts to Islam turning to hatred and violence. If even a tenth of the converts to Christianity followed a similar path, it would be international news for weeks. But no one will take any notice of this.

Three people part of a group who had left the country to join ISIS has been identified by the relatives and families in Kerala after they surrendered in Afghanistan.
According to the reports, 29-year-old Nimisha alias Fathima, her husband Bexin and their child have been identified by Nimisha’s mother Bindu Sampath. They were identified from the photographs provided by the NIA officials as part of the verification

Question: Why doesn't the article identify the religion from which they converted? Would like to know how many, e.g., Episcopalians, Seventh Day Adventists, or Mormons convert and become jehadis.

Its a truism around the world. People who convert to Christianity, Buddhism or Hinduism mostly focus on prayer, meditation, social work with the poor or sick, or living a proper life.
People who convert to Islam mostly just develop their instinct to kill
It’s obviously not converting to a religion. It’s joining a political movement that uses a religion to control its members.
