The insiders hate us for electing someone they didn't choose and don't like but then again, they hated us before that anyway. You see, they are embarrassed by conservatives, with our "limited government" and "strict construction" ideas. Most of all they despise us because every two or four or six years they need to come on hands and knees begging for our votes, lying the entire time about actually believing these awful and backward things like "limited government" and "strict construction". Then when they have cocktails in DC they need to reassure everyone that it's all just an act to fool the rubes in flyover country. It' tedious to them, they wish we'd just go away and let them have the party they really want, one that looks exactly like the democrat party.
