Weirdly, I think Vindman brought it up because he hoped it would excuse him somehow. When I read this, I saw Vindman trying to walk his “testimony” back, because he realized that with the light of day - and GREAT questioning - this was going to look seriously bad for him.
The only thing I wonder is why there has been no comment from anybody in charge of this guy. I’m hoping they’re preparing the charges. I hope.
