Do we want to live in an America where credit card companies watch our buying habits and then block purchases for ideological reasons…?

It seems to me the Left will never run out of cowflop to fling at the ceiling and see what sticks.
Now they hope and are pushing in an end run for “big business” to take over and control you and me. Where they are limited in government by law, they have discovered a way around. And terrified or psychologically high businesses tag along obedient as puppies.
What next amazing spew of cowflop will they try next?

Citigroup is setting restrictions on the sale of firearms by its business customers, making it the first Wall Street bank to take a stance in the divisive nationwide gun control debate…It would apply to clients who offer credit cards backed by Citigroup or borrow money, use banking services or raise capital through the company. The rules, which the company described as “common-sense measures,” echo similar restrictions established by some major retailers, like Walmart. But they also represent the boldest such move to emerge from the banking sector.

This is the same insanity that made Gillette attack their own customers. The same delusion that made total dicks out of Dicks. The same wildly violent jackass desperation liberals display in politics, in their so-called “media,” on their crazed college campuses, in their socialist-banner-carrying TV shows, in their pink-hatted films, and everywhere they march, stand, or sit. They will try anything that might actually work. Why?
Liberals are relentlessly out to get America and Americans by any means necessary. Because of their imagined goals of socialist “humanitarianism,” and technocrat “superior” control, and a “benevolent” Rule of equality—any and all means seem justified. Including, lies, stealing elections, harassing people, breaking down their doors, burning their cities, beating them up, tearing them down, and even killing them.
Destroy, destroy, destroy is the liberal dogma: find all conservatives and what they love; fix them in place; and then destroy—using any tool at hand. A law, a meme, a theme, a dream, or an axe handle.
There can be no competitor. There can be no challenger. There can be—in the end—only One. The victor; the socialist. Anything not them will be obliterated or killed.

They will stop at Nothing to co-opt, destroy, or burn down every American tradition, or way, or morality. So they can replace America—and provide a substitute for you and me—with liberal, pink-hatted snowflakes, and their own version of some unicorn-fart, communist paradise.
And the best way to take down America is to disarm her. Make guns illegal; make their possession be against the law; against “healthcare” laws; against tax laws; against property-ownership. Outlawed.
Make gun possession a felony. Never mind this will make hundreds of millions of law abiders instant felons. Never mind real criminals won’t give a flying damn about “laws” against guns or “sensible gun control.”
No. The object would be to take away all guns, so guns won’t “kill people” anymore. Especially not liberals, “progressives,” Marxists, socialists, or communists. Especially not pushers, sellers, or buyers. Especially not Elite Rulers-In-Waiting. Especially not willing handmaidens of fear, starvation, poverty, war, conquest, and death.
Especially not those who would control Earth. And you, and me:

I think if you look more deeply, you will find Democrats pressuring banks to do this.
Trump’s Treasury Secretary needs to tell federal bank regulators to inquire about banks conspiring to discriminate against American citizens exercising their Constitutional rights.
The same people who want corporate money out of politics are perfectly happy with corporate participation in social agendas.
I am willing to bet that every one of these anti-gun companies has board members related or friends with anti-gun politicians. Probably some relatives as well.
Today, it looks bad if a politician takes money from Citi. But a friend/relative on the board can steer the company’s operations and donate without a direct link to the company.
Now the politician gets money, get social justice and a friendly corporation helping them.
google, facebook and twitter decide what the public should know. No surprise that financial institutions control what we buy.
Go to bank. Get cash on your card. Go to store. Buy gun. Problem solved.

I canceled Citibank accounts because of their policies against gun shops and I let them know why. If enough folks were aware of this and did the same, I suspect bottom-line profit would over-ride their anti-gun agenda.
Some of the gun stores around here give cash discounts. I take the discounts if they do. But I prefer using my costco visa as I get a lot of money back at the end of the year by using it. I buy all my food and all my Gas on my CC.
Another good reason to avoid the digital currency trap.
Cash works.
Next will be any customers who have been banned from social media sites.
I’m pretty well set in that department, but my guess is it will go to all cash and prices will go up 25%. They’ll use the Canabas business model.
Liberals hate gun owners more than guns because gun owners refuse to conform their thinking to liberal dogma. Gun control is about punishing dissidents and the acquisition of absolute political power. Tell them you demand the right to speak your mind, practice your religion or exercise dominion over your private property and they’ll hate you just as fiercely.

So...because I have a credit card in my wallet, any wespons I own will go “poof”? I don’t think so.
Besides, if there’s enough profit involved, another entity will step in and provide funds for manufacturers and purchasers. Capitalism, baby!
Banks and the government would like to do away with cash. What then?
Punt? Have all the guns you want/need now plus the ammo to go with them.
