Hal Steinbrenner says family has no intention of selling Yankees

TAMPA, Fla. -- The New York Yankees are not for sale. Not now and, if the Steinbrenner family has its way, perhaps not ever.

Hal Steinbrenner, the Yankees' managing general partner, says that despite a recent Forbes Magazine story valuing his team at $3.2 billion -- the second-most-valuable franchise in professional sports, worth nearly 400 times what Hal's father, George Steinbrenner, paid for it in 1973 -- the family has no intention of selling the ballclub, and in fact intends to see it under Steinbrenner family ownership for generations to come.

What the heck? The day after a tough playoff loss, there is speculation about future ownership of the Yankees? Really?

I think there could be speculation about Aaron Boone’s future, but not whether the Steinbrenner boys will continue to own the Yankees.

Sorry, can’t take seriously any league that doesn’t allow the pitcher to hit.

No, it is a old article from March 2016.

A lot of people since 2015, wanted the Steinbrenner sons to sell the team since they are not high profile or handling the day to day operations like George did after his suspension from baseball in the early 1990s.

Boone could be fired next year if he does not deliver a championship, but there could be pressure on billionaire Steinbrenners to sell the team.

Which billionaire would want to buy the Yankees? Jeff Bezos? Mark Cuban?

Technically, the pitcher CAN hit, but he isn't obliged to. However, last I knew if the DH is moved to the field, then the pitcher has to hit.

That said, the DH as a concept is lame.

New York State produces talent and wealth.

Republicans do a disservice ignoring contesting NY

Giuliani, Pataki, D’Amato, Reagan won NY

Not if Liz Warren has any say. They will have to sell it to pay the wealth tax

It's been nearly fifty years. The National League is like the ONLY league that makes the pitcher hit. You don't want to take the WHOLE of baseball seriously, you never watch baseball.

You may as well bitch about the forward pass in football...

In MLB, the manager is less relevant today than ever before. Nowadays, his job is to make the decisions existed by the GM’s commuter system ... and take the blame if the GM does a bad job.

If the Yankees were put on the market today, I would not be surprised if NY Jets owner Woody Johnson had a strong interest in buying the team.

Hey, Mr. Pottymouth.

So because you don’t like New York, you like to toss F-bombs around a site that’s not yours or mine?

Classy.

Top of the 9th a two run homer ties the game. Bottom of the 9th a two run homer wins the game. Top closers in for both teams. It’s the big leagues kids. Both managers managed and did good jobs. IMO. The DH rule sucks to me because the pitchers are athletes and there’s some that can flat hit. They put in the DH and BOHIC’d the manager. Again IMO. Go Nats and I’m a Cardinals fan so you don’t like it bite me. :)

Woody Johnson is as popular as James Dolan, the owner of the Knicks and Rangers.

However, Steinbrenner almost sold the Yankees to Dolan in the late 1990s because he was tired of the old Yankee Stadium, which was demolished in 2010.

The New Yankee Stadium, opened in 2009.

Ok. I’ll un-potty the question...

Why do New Yorker’s through their voting patterns appear to be some of the most idiotic retarded morons on earth?

Yes, under a Warren presidency, billionaire owners are probably paying a wealth tax or inheritance tax.

Most likely.

Jerry Jones, Steinbrenner, and Cuban are all aware of this.
