In many respects, the New York Yankees just completed an extraordinary decade. Over the past 10 regular seasons, they won 921 games, more than any other team in baseball. They made the playoffs seven timesno other team played into October more often.
The 2010s were a success by every measurethat is, except for the only one their fans actually care about: winning the World Series.
New Yorks season-ending defeat to the Houston Astros in the American League Championship Series on Saturday means that for the first time since the 1910s, they have gone a full calendar decade without so much as appearing in the World Series.

As reliable as death and taxes.

Early prediction.. Yankees and Trump both win it all within a week of each other in 2020.
Hillary always being a Yankees fan didn’t help.
I think the Russians were involved in sabotaging Giancarlo Stanton.

She said she was so it’s settled history.
None may question her pantsuit-ship.
I think that, with additional layers of playoffs nowadays, it’s harder than ever to win a World Series.
Up until 1968, pennant winners in each league went directly to the World Series. Then with divisional play and playoffs, sometimes the best teams didn’t survive.
Example — the 1973 New York Mets with an 82-79 regular season record, defeated the 99-63 Cincinnati Reds in the playoffs to advance to the World Series.
Guess that means the fans don’t have much to show for what they tossed down a rathole, either.

This is a prime example of why the system is totally unfair. We need to abolish the World Series.
Excuse me, I need a minute to try and be emotional and shed a tear.....
Well I tried. After the display of what the fans did to the Astros as far as disespect and mouthing off I’m delighted that CLASS won the division.....I’m an Astros fan and have been for over 40 years and they’ve always been respectful and decent but there comes a time when we as fans can say this and the players, through their own coach who told them not to react or be disrespectful in a letter, can let it be known that the best team won not only in scores but downright respect! If anyone thinks I’m wrong just tell me.....don’t call me names.....that upsets me and I don’t want to tell anyone on here to bite me......;) I love youse guys and want to continue to love you....;)

As an ardent Red Socks fan when asked, what team do you support? His answer was, “anybody that defeats those damn Yankees!”
Haha, I retract my evidence in favor of the subject’s statements!
Naw, I don’t see it that way. The point of baseball is to go to a game, enjoy the day, see great ball played by great players, and figure your team has a better than even chance of winning a game just to top it all off. The Yankees give their fans full value, the latter are just a little spoiled, that’s all. Just my $0.02.
The Yankees represent the sports capitalism of the second half of the 20th century: buy them and they will win. Somebody failed to tell them that we are in the 21st century, and their business model on the buy side needs to be updated.
New York who? The best team money can buy
Go Stros!
Hell yeah
Don’t feel so bad. The Astros are tough.
Yankees can hit. They have an above average bullpen. They don’t have world championship caliber starting pitching.
Astros have Verlander, Cole and Greinke. All three are outstanding.
Astros over Nats in 5.
