FROM the get-go, let’s be inordinately clear: on the domestic front, President Trump has done more to make America great again than any other POTUS – aside from Reagan, warts and all.

ON the other hand, his foreign policy has been all over the place – a mishmash of counter-intuitive and so-called “strategic” decision-making. In particular, relative to the hotter than hot Middle East – a region which is always a hair-trigger away from the next mega explosion – he is way out of his depth.

AS such, a backgrounder to the charges at hand require certain truths to be aired – the good, the bad and the ugly....

What is the vital US Security interest involved in the US giving the Kurd’s a US backed military shield to hide behind while they continue their separatists attacks on the internationally recognized Governments of Iran, Iraq and Turkey?

Frankly I prefer Trump’s return to the pre Bush family traditional US policy. Bush the 1st made a massive mistake ending our “Over the Horizon” posture in the ME. By failing to decisively win Desert Storm in 1991 Bush locked us in a full body hug with the Middle East tar-baby ever since.

It is time the USA start figuring out how to pry ourselves off that mess. Like the Border Crisis Congress’s complete lack of any responsible action over Obama/Clinton/Biden/McCain’s misguided adventure in Syria required the President to take action.

Now that we are a energy exporter, for the 1st time since the 1960s, our national security interest in protecting the flow of oil out of the ME is greatly reduced. It is time we start re-thinking all our national polices. However, Congress has shown they will not act unless forced to it by the Executive.

I disagree with this writers assertion that leaving now will create another 9/11 attack on America.

We do not need to get ourselves into another protracted war that will have no solution whatsoever, but will keep us in place for decades to come. We owe them nothing and getting involved makes us more of a target then not engaging them does.

The result is a “no fly zone” which, for the 1st time, requires the US to station troops in Saudi Arabia for an extended period of time. Bin Laden uses those troops as justification to carry out the 09-11 attacks. Everything else flow from those 09-11 attacks.
