As House Democrats ponder the politics of impeaching Donald J. Trump, they are weighing the possible outcomes. An impeachment inquiry could weaken the president before next year's election and give the White House back to the Democrats, or it could backfire, the way the GOP's effort to oust Bill Clinton did in 1998. But there's a third option: impeachment could succeed. As a senior staffer on the House Judiciary Committee framed the dilemma, "What if we're left with President Pence?"
That scenario has seemed far-fetched — until this week. At the moment there don't seem to be enough GOP senators who would vote to convict Trump if the Democratic-controlled House passes articles of impeachment against him. But the president hasn't been able to quash "Ukraine-gate," the scandal that erupted after a White House whistleblower reported that Trump pressed Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky for dirt on Joe Biden and his son Hunter. Releasing the transcript of the call, which the White House apparently believed was exculpatory, only intensified the pressure. A recent Fox News poll showed a majority — 51 percent — now want Trump impeached and removed from office. That was the first major poll showing a majority in favor of Trump's ouster.

Are they forgetting that there is a presidential election in 12 months. The American people are going to make a decision. Congress is not going to do anything between now and then.

The Rats want impeachment without a vote based on an anonymous source with hearsay evidence which will then be somehow voted on in secret by the Senate.

We need someone who has what it takes to fight and defeat the dirtiest, most unethical, most evil political force known to man (i.e. the Democrats). Our leader will have to get into the trenches with them and beat them hand to hand...withstand every kind of attack (on himself and his family) from every imaginable direction and to return deadly fire that anticipates and even understands the evil from which it comes. He will have to be willing to be accused of all kinds of filth and let it roll of his suit of armor. He must have a killer instinct but be strategic enough to understand that killing isn't enough (i.e. their earth must be salted like that of Carthage).
God bless him. He's a good man.

Any Republican not named Trump is done before they even start, the Demonrat Party would eat them all alive.
They are going to have to be dealt with before any gentle Repubics could possibly even be considered, not that I would consider any of them.
Two very important elements for a successful politician is knowledge and wisdom.
Knowledge is a collection of facts and data.
Wisdom is the ability to USE that knowledge wisely.
If wisdom is coupled with Godliness, I don't see a downside.
Pence will take the base Trump began and fine tune America
