Students at Michigan State University are getting an education in how they can avoid offending people with culturally inappropriate Halloween costumes in what’s becoming a new tradition that undermines the university’s own identity.
The unsolicited advice on what to wear on fright night appeared on message boards in campus residences this week to help students answer the question “Is your Halloween costume racist?” according to The Morning Watch, the school’s conservative news site.
What’s become an annual reminder from MSU’s Residence Education and Housing Services spells out the difference between “cultural appropriation vs. appreciation.” When students are selecting a Halloween costume, REHS wants them to ask themselves, “do you belong to that group of people?”

I liked and respected this woman very, very much. She was a lovely, loving, kind, decent person.
I also appreciated her concern about the welfare of my soul, though I definitely did not share her religious beliefs, fun loving as I am and convinced of God's love, guidance, protection, and indulgence.
She didn't try to impose her beliefs on me either, because of her fundamental tolerance, kindness, benevolence, generosity, and open-mindedness.

Can they please define a costume that isn’t “culturally” based? The only available imagery would be animals. Which is what the left wants us to descend to.

Well, it is low class and sinful. Sexual obsession hasn’t gotten us anywhere, only made things worse than they already are. Women feeding mens’ lusts are not helping anything.
This is the school that enabled Dr. Larry Nassar and attempted a coverup of his abuses. Abigail Pesta's book "The Girls" mentions MSU's efforts in support of Nassar.
Everyone, including blacks, should dress up in black-face and go trick-and-treating.
