What goes on in politics today is really staggering. So much idiocy on both sides really. But now we have these democrats pushing to impeach Trump in the house which of course is nothing more than a pyrrhic victory as that is as far as it goes. So the whole procedure is a colossal waste of time. The senate never will vote to impeach. What you'll get is the Bill Clinton phenomenon when even "crooked weenie" Clinton continued to rise in the polls. People being as mush-brained as they are, always want to take the side of the poor person being prosecuted. It's a natural instinct embedded within them.
But get this, the democrats in their towering stupidity will be the only body on this planet that can actually make Trump, I repeat, scabrous, rough, narcissistic Trump (and I like him BTW) seem like a poor victim and he will thus rise in the polls. Not the polls the liberal MSM will manufacture and trot out. They will be skewered and dishonest polls across the board. don't believe any of them. ' It's really beyond comprehension. This is a "talking points" temporary victory in the short term for dems, but is a disaster for them in the long run. But chomping at the bait they go merrily and unconsciously along. Trump's re-election is simple now, really, it's all in place. One, garner the sympathy of the persecuted man, the underdog and two, as the campaign rolls around drop all other issues and just run against AOC and the other one and he can't help but win unless he's caught setting fire to an orphanage.
One advantage is that if Trump falls for it, he will be sidelined and this will keep keep Trump off balance and not moving forward on the projects he champions. If he were smart, which isn't always the case now is it, he would simply brush all of this aside and stridently pursue his projects with even more fervor.
I think the overall fault on this is mine however, I like most people always seem to buy into the lie that these senators and reps are actually intelligent and intellectually braced. But it's an illusion. Many of the people in government were just average Joe's and Jane's before their elections, like the brainy powerhouse AOC, Well, in truth, these people have no more intelligence, at least any long term intelligence, any more than the guy at the bagel shop or the gnarly dude with blond hair working at the local surfboard shop. These are not bodies of intellect, they are bodies of pretty smiles, the latest fashions, and the sheep like thinking that has permeating both bodies of the house for at least the last 200 years. Short term champagne bottles (the thrill of victory) followed inevitably and most assuredly by the agony of their own defeat by their own short sightedness. A total non-winner for the dems, that's why they're all so fervently on board. Wow, just wow. I applaud them, go, hire sky writers to write it in the skies above all the big cities. Boy you guys have really got us this time.
I used to believe that was the case, however, I am beginning to believe there is a cabal within the Republican Senate will vote yea on impeachment, because they are a sory bunch of SOB's.
And the stock market went wild right after his Senate acquittal.
“As Greg guttfield said, this is going to red pill the nation.”
Perhaps if we had at the very least a fair media. The media is 100% hostile to Trump, so they will scream at volume 11 at the tiniest mole hill and hide the rest
The non- braineashed 62 percent majority will see.
I think some of them desperately want to be praised by the MSM for their “McCain-like” statesmanship in opposing Trump. But when the next election rolls around, the MSM will be calling them “fascists”, anyway - and supporting their Democrat opponents 100%.
Only the Dems? If it gets to a vote in the Senate, expect RINO weasels like Romney and Rubio and others to go along. There are a whole lot of swamp critters in the Pubbie Party. They are all afraid Trump may smoke them out next. Don’t be surprised to see a lot vote for impeachment.
I think they are just sorry POS’s. What they will be is the ruination of the Republican Party. I will never vote for another Republican as long as I live if the Senate does convict him. I am so mad I could spit on all of those traitors to this country to be quite honest.
Has anyone in Congress noticed the U.S. is bankrupt?
The Senate does not vote to impeach. If impeached by the house, the Senate votes to convict or acquit.
LOL, True.
Oh that's not even close to true. I can give you a list of RINOs who have been doing a handsome job all by themselves, starting with he who shall remain nameless.
Rinos will vote to convict to cover their a$$es from being exposed as corrupt. They may lose their seat but at least they won’t be in jail.
I agree with that. RINOs ar ein for themselves.
Trump and his allies need to start declassifying everything they have on dems. Play the Obama game and sic the IRS on foundations, particularly those run by politicians. Start arresting dem donors for whatever crimes can be discovered. Play their game. Find someone trusted and just begin. Then go after RINO’s.
I understand conventional wisdom, but a word of caution...PT is not BJ.
Word of caution. Bill Clinton had the MSM on his side. There was a constant drumbeat to make him a sympathetic person. The press also blurred the charges against him and made it into simple infidelity. I think you'd be hard pressed to find many who to this day know what laws BJ was found guilty of.
Never rely on the Roman Senate. It will not be allowed to vote.
