US President Donald Trump says: to win quick, tens of millions of people would be killed.
US President Donald Trump repeated his jarring statement about quickly ending the war in Afghanistan, using terms similar to those in a July statement that prompted the Afghan government to ask for clarification.
Addressing a news conference with Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison on Friday, Trump said the United States could rapidly end the nearly 19-year war in Afghanistan but it would involve killing tens of millions of people.
Weve been very effective in Afghanistan, and if we wanted to do a certain method of war, we would win that very quickly, but many, many, really, tens of millions of people would be killed, and we think its unnecessary, Trump said.
Similar comments were made by Trump in July during an Oval Office meeting with Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan. There, Trump claimed he could win the war in a week but said he did not want to go that route, because I just dont want to kill 10 million people.
Trump earlier this month called off negotiations with the Taliban, and subsequently said the talks with the group are dead.

The last big war we really won was WWII. The civilian casualties were fairly enormous.
What Trump is saying is backed up by the history. No one on the Left getting the vapors over what Trump is saying knows a damn thing about history.
He’s giving people reality check....and they still don’t have the brains to look at it correctly.
I watch most all of the live things he does, usually something almost daily on one of the channels I follow, this is certainly not the first time since July that he has repeated that... Seems like a rally or two at least, but I must have heard it a dozen times back in August alone, he repeats that often, usually adds “and I am not talking nuclear” there is a reason he keeps repeating it!
I think he is just warning the world, including the deep state, that he has full control of our military and that it is back at 100% strength!! He wants it overwhelmingly strong so he in theory should never need to use it and I think he wants it known the prior weakness has been fixed.
Sometimes you’ve got to sound unpredictable. If the enemy doesn’t know whether you’re going to be easy or go nuts they won’t try anything. It’s the classic crazy white boy tactic.
It worked pretty well for Alexander. He killed all the men in Persepolis, the Persian capital. Persia was ruled by Greeks for ~240 years.

Were Alexander’s campaigns, and the aftermath, part of Trump’s curriculum at military school? I would not be surprised. Massacres of the defeated were pretty common as preventive measures given that armies tended to be small compared to conquered populations, and an example had to be made to ensure future compliance with the edicts of the conquerors. It couldn’t be all stick, but the stick had to be applied from the outset, lest familiarity breed contempt. Carrots then followed as a salve for what preceded them. And in many cases, the conquerors either adopted (Greeks, Mongols, Romans, Turks) the conquered’s gods, or forced (Arabs, Germans https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Northern_Crusades) the conquered to convert to new gods.
Sounds more like a warning to those who would harbor jihadis the way Afghanistan has done.
Sounds like he’s been served a steaming pile of it by our corrupt intelligence community again.
Trump should doing something on the order of what Nixon did in Vietnam-Linebacker II. Bomb the bejeezus out of the Taliban with B52s and see if that gets their attention. In any event it’s time to get out of that Stone Age pesthole.
Should have been done in the early morning hours of 9/12/01.
I don’t know if there’s 10’s of millions in Afghanistan to kill, anyway. Best thing we could do is wipe them off the map, tell all the illegals they can have their own country and then take all the minerals, etc that abound in the country. It’s a win-win for us. We finally get rid of the Taliban, force the chinese out of the country and allow the hard working, “they just need an opportunity” illegals to prove to the world that they aren’t the blood sucking, leeches that they appear to be.
But, I’m thinking that if there is an underlying threat it is more geared to Afghanistan’s neighbor to the west, Iran. Iran has 10s of millions to lose. Mostly in their major cities, like everywhere else. If war were to commence and the President went Old School, by bombing EVERYTHING, it won’t be pretty. With technology and bragging about being able to put a missile through someone’s front door from miles and miles away, we’ve changed our tactics. We’ve convinced ourselves that even in war are to be sympathetic, kind, caring and compassionate. We’re not supposed to go after the civilian population. When there are 1000s of Iranians in the streets yelling Death to America, they’re making the conscience decision to go from innocent civilian to enemy combatant.
The sometimes fill-in for Hannity once said that the Department of Defense needs to change it’s name back to the Department of War. I have to agree.
There was a quote, not sure who it is attributed to but it went something like: It is the enemy that makes the decision when the war is over, not us.

But the President was busy that morning delivering his friends to safety.
Gracias
It was time 15 years ago.
Population of Afghanistan is supposed to be 35 million. The big issue, though, is the sanctuary given to the Islamics by Pakistan (population 208 million). We did not find Osama in Afghanistan. He was comfortably living in a compound in Pakistan, less than 2 miles from Pakistan's military academy.
There can be no solution to Afghanistan which does not involve sorting out Pakistan.
You can’t sort out a country unless you are willing to sort out the underlying problem ideology.
Germany in WWII - Nazism
Japan in WWII - Japanese militarism / emperor worship

Controversial? Sounds like a uncontroversial statement of fact to me. If it were stated as a call to action, then it might be controversial.
There is a site that I have not looked at called Nuke the Moon and its about exactly what youre saying.
Keep your enemies completely off balance at all times.
In President Trumps case, the enemies list includes the entire media complex, the dem party, K Street, Deep State, Wall Street (while sucking up the benefits of the Trump Economy),Chi Coms, NeoCons, Putin, the unions (with whom he has had to wrangle his entire adult life), all of our intelligence agencies, Europe, the nearly half of America that in earlier times would be institutionalized, and every government agency other than that part of the military which excludes top brass, upper echelons, and bureaucrats.
It astounds me how many people, especially those on our own team, have not figured out that President Trump reads it right pretty much every time.
Its jarring and it sounds way off, not because hes *wrong*. Its because you have been lied to for so long.
The lies have been elaborate and convoluted; they have been kept alive by one administration after another, backed up by willing accomplices in the media and Congress.
Not just the Fake news media; Hollywood, TV, Madison Avenue; they have all been useful idiots of the Deep State.
So, of course when Donald Trump pops off about the emperor running around naked, he sounds like a lunatic.
Believe him. For the love of gawd and the sake of your children and grandchildren, believe him. He has no hidden agenda. The man already had everything when he went into this mess.
