A large flock of White Ibis descended next to our lake in Broward County, Florida on their way back to their usual habitat after the exit of Hurricane Dorian. Since we just had a heavy rain downpour, the Ibis went on a feeding frenzy in the moist ground for small worms and other tiny critters. Soon after this video was recorded the Ibis, having eaten their fill, left and did not return.
LOL! Great video and a perfect sound track. And seriously HAPPY ibis!
Yeah, we had a brief but very heavy downpour just before this and the worms must have had to come to the surface or drown. Feeding time for the Ibis!
Lol! Ibis doing what they do every day around here... My back yard is usually full of them in the morning and early evening. If it were not for my pool enclosure I suspect they’d be in the pool too...
They are fun to watch though.
Well, the difference now is the number of them which is much higher than normal. I figure the reason is because they had to exit the area due to Hurricane Dorian and are now returning to their old habitats as Dorian slowly moves north. This lake here was kind of a pit stop for them on their way home.
Oops! Please know that I was not mocking your post... Sorry if you read it as such.
No problem. I didn’t take it as such. I was just explaining why so many Ibis suddenly arrived due to the hurricane. I might do another video about the local invasion of the Iguana Dinosaurs which, unfortunately, is not temporary.
I was planning to do so, but got busy with other things.
