Gun Stress Test at a Higher Level - Hi-Point pistol has been known to take a beating anywhere from running it into the mud to having it run over by a truck and still keeps on running.
Will a Hi-Point pistol work if dropped from a helicopter? Well, this is what Edwin Sarkissian did. Check out this skydiving Hi-Point pistol that was "dropped once".
Love them or hate them Hi-Point pistols are here to stay. Some people swear by them as an economical protection handgun while others swear at them. Are they that tough?
In this video we see a Hi-Point pistol get chucked out of a helicopter. It hits the ground and is found after some searching. Testing the pistol afterwards Edwin Sarkissian finds the trigger will not work and the pistol is done.
Is this a thing to consider when making a purchase? To some this may be a driving point if theyre looking for durability and reliability. However, there has to be a line of which stress test is worth knowing about that is likely to happen in the real-world. Chucking a pistol out of a helicopter at 1000 ft. and retrieving it to use may not be a realistic scenario.
If nothing else this video was quite fun to watch. When was the last time youve seen a flying Hi-Point pistol? Read and see the rest of skydiving Hi-Point pistol.
Before I purchase a firearm I always test its durability by throwing it out of a helicopter at 1,000 feet......
....bought one in .40 S&W at a gun show several years ago; ugly as a mud fence but when I pull the trigger it always goes “BANG”... not as easy to field-strip to clean as some other handguns I own but once you get the hang of it, it is pretty easy... also comes with a lifetime warranty...!!
Warranty is VOID if pistol is thrown from a helicopter.
Someone please correct me if I’m wrong but a stryker fired weapon won’t have a trigger pull and go “click” if there is no round in the chamber.
But ok if “dropped” just don’t throw it.
This is kind of like the test of the weapon where you put in on a Break Dancing FBI Agent.
Yes it will.
I’m hard put to think of anything metal that will survive a 1000-foot drop and still function. I daresay even a main battle tank would be non-functional, despite that thick armor.
Not true, kemosabe.
Hi-Point will fix or replace any firearm they've ever made, no questions asked, no matter who owns it.
They'll even throw in a free mag when they ship your firearm back to you.
Joke detector turned off this morning? 8~)

I want to do the same robustness test to our new high-end flat screen TV but my wife wont let me.
My brain doesn't recognize humor until after the second cup of coffee ;-)
My friends Hi-Point 45 will not go click without a round in the chamber. Rack the slide without a round and trigger does nothing - acts like the safety is on.
You breaking into the FBI’s “fuhgidaboutit” Box !!
Yup. An people who write these stupid articles should jump out of an aircraft without a parachute.
The duct taped camera introduced stresses that the gun wasn’t designed to handle.
I know of one that was dropped 500 feet and was run over by an armored vehicle. Still works fine. Still ugly.
Depends on the firearm. My striker-fired Glocks will go “click” once, but require cycling the slide to reset the trigger.
