The best example is the way they went about first tagging anyone who knew what natural born citizen means as a “birther” and then going full Alinsky on them.
They used disinformation about being born in Kenya to distract from the fact that it did not matter where he was born, just that he was born a British subject and Kenyan national. That alone makes him not naturally an American.
The only way one is naturally American is if they cannot be anything else. More than ONE nationality is NOT.
They even enlisted conservatives, Limbaugh and Beck went out of their way to belittle Constitutionalists.

My point of view is that the modern downfall of reasoned skepticism began with radio. The pinnacle of liberty in the US was 1920's more or less. many piece of globalism fell into place coincidentally.
