Some White House aides reportedly joined in an effort to try to limit undocumented immigrants' access to public benefits, including the public school system.
Bloomberg reported Saturday that Trump aide Stephen Miller led an effort beginning in 2017 that sought out ways to limit public school enrollment among undocumented immigrants, and pressed Cabinet officials as well as the White House Domestic Policy Council to aid his efforts.
The plan was eventually abandoned, with Bloomberg reporting that Miller was informed that his efforts would run afoul of a Supreme Court decision guaranteeing access to public schools to all residents of the U.S. including undocumented immigrants.
Miller's efforts reportedly got as far as the crafting of a guidance memo to be sent by the Department of Education (DOE) informing states that they could refuse public school access to undocumented students.

I see nothing wrong with that. They are here illegally, they aren’t entitled to a free education on our dime.
You have no idea who they really are and where they’re from ,no free school for you
All children in Public school should speak English on day one.
Good!
Good!
This is why I voted for President Trump.
School should be for AMERICAN citizens ONLY..here in LA County its overrun with illegals and of course we pay for it..than teachers b*tch about having too many kids in the classroom yet they dont mention the root cause
Not “migrants.”
I-L-L-E-G-A-L-S.
The people of CA passed prop 187 and ended public education for illegals. A court shot it down and the state never appealed. Put to a new vote it would probably pass again.
They need to have a school where they can speak English and we need to do away with bilingual schools. I keep hearing that teachers are overworked, if illegals are in a separate school it will make a huge difference.
I researched about bring my Thai niece to the USA for schooling. I would have to pay the public school system $5-7K a year even though I am a certified property tax payer.
Illegals should be required to do the same.
Headline is a flat out lie.
Migrant children are the children of legal or green carded parents who do day labor.
There is no intention to block them from public schools.
Illegals aren’t the problem, it’s us. We’re not paying the “teachers” enough. /sarc
Let them enroll - as the Supreme Court demands. Then call ICE on their families - as the law demands. Make everyone happy.
This was a major part of Prop 187 which we passed here in California back in 1994.
Dubya, Jack Kemp, and Bill Bennett were three of the many treason lobby hacks who sided with illegal aliens against us.

Actually it doesn’t have to be voted on again- it can still be sent to the Court of Appeals to see if they will overturn the decision of the one corrupt leftwing judge, Mariana Pfaelzer, whose sole vote overturned the will of the voters of California.
Of course no Democrat will do it, and Arnold being the obedient Bush Republican stooge that he was didn’t appeal it either.
In my neighborhood we had “parachute kids”. Korean teens who came over on vacation visas and overstayed. A family friend rented a house for them, the teens enrolled in high school which naturally never asked if they were here legally. There were four IIRC, at $8,000 apiece per year at the time.
About 40% of California’s illegals come over on visas and never go home. You get to pay for their education. Enjoy.
I’d be shocked to hear they are all immunized before entering school.
