Vanity: Your thoughts on the Post Trump America
none | today | me

Posted on 08/06/2019 5:52:22 PM PDT by chrisser

Hello fellow FReepers. Don't post much these days but I lurk a lot. Haven't seen a thread on this topic - if I've missed it, then a link would be appreciated and/or I'll ask the mods to delete this.

Like many of you, I'm a big fan of the President and all he's accomplished. I hope his second term is even better. Having hope for the (near) future is a pleasant change from previous administrations.

Sadly, Trump is just one man, and he has formidable and powerful forces stacked against him. I have no doubt he will continue to surprise us, but at the end of next year, or at the end of the next five years, we'll see the end of the Trump era.

I've been pondering what Post Trump America is going to look like and frankly, the more I think about it, the more it fills me with dread.

I'm in my early 50s and facing the certain future of my wits and my strength fading just as we reach a time that I think may be a very dangerous one, at least for those of us who fall into the "normals" category - straight, white, traditional, rational and conservative.

I can’t figure out how a civil war will work logistically. Both sides are almost everywhere.

A Convention of States will be convened and the Country will celebrate a new birth of freedom after the proposed amendments are ratified.

That is how a real civil war works.

The war we had in the 1860s wasn't really a civil war. It was a war of secession. A war between 2 countries, the USA and the new CSA.

So how do “religious” or political civil wars even work, logistically?

I think the slow drip approach is what they’re purposely doing ...they know most older Americans are going to either die, or age, or lose strength/resources as they get older to fight.

And I think they know this.

It’s up to the next generation, and I don’t have a lot of confidence in that. I fear for my grandchildren so badly.

I hear Costa Rica is nice this time of year.

I figure almost 100% chance of civil war by 2024.
It will look like Yugoslavia. Not 1861.

The only person I can think of who might be a really good next president is Rick Scott.

That would be a no. Being a US Senator should be an automatic disqualification for POTUS.

It’s gonna be even uglier, I’m afraid. The left is officially unhinged.

Even worse: there is no party opposing them. The progressive-corportist controlled GOP prefers Democrats to conservatives.

We will go back to the overwhelming majority of Conservatives pissing away the Republic while complaining about the precious few trying to save it.

“The only person I can think of who might be a really good next president is Rick Scott.”

For anyone who has done nothing else with his life, I agree. Scott, however, has considerable executive experience. I might change my mind about him if I ever found that he had become compromised by the Big State

Between the leftists that want their revolution and want it now and the mainstream Democrats that believe everything bad that happens is a Russian conspiracy, there is no sanity left with the bad guys. The Left is going to push and push hard. There will be violence and lots of it.

Ahh, comrade, those were good days. I remember when you had all the food you could eat (most of it has been banned nowadays as contributing to global warming or harming the environment), and actually could get medical care without submitting a request to the government which they would or would not act on within 6 months. For eating utensils we have to use our fingers, because knives and forks have been banned as potential terror weapons, and anything plastic could harm the environment so was also banned.

For transportation most of us have to walk, or if we can build up sufficient ration card credits, we might be able to afford a bicycle one day. Fossil fuels were banned, and because most electric vehicles used power generated from fossil fuels, they were banned also.

And in the goold old days we also had the internet and ability to communicate. Now you must have a permit from the government so that you don’t spread hate.

As for children, comrade, there are almost none. Too expensive, and much easier to just not have them so they are disposed of, if you know what I mean. Also, for many of the people, you cannot tell whether they are men or women, so that makes it difficult to find someone you could actually reproduce with. You must also be careful what you say, because addressing someone by the wrong pronoun could result in you going to prison.

There are good things, though. We are all equal now, because anyone who made over a certain amount of money had a 100% tax imposed on them for being rich, and all that money was redistributed to the people (through going to the government). We don’t have to worry about money, because we use government-issued ration cards to make our purchases. Trouble makers are also removed from the society so we don’t have to worry about being triggered by anti-social comments or by miscreants being un-mutual.

I have very little hope for this country once Trump is out of office, especially if a dem gets in.

We have bought our new house way out in the boonies in a gun friendly state, and are getting everything we need for it.

I hate to say it, but I am glad at this point that we don’t have grandchildren. I feel bad for my kids, too. Thirty years ago when we had them, I never would have conceived how bad things would have gotten as they are today.

As far as civil war or even sustained civil unrest, there has never been a nation that went that way when the poorest are the most likely to be obese and are the most entertained poor people ever. So far, any way. These conditions are very new. But for me any way it seems unlikely.

There are other things too, like the eligible voter turnout % being so low.

The smart move for the elite is not to do anything major that gets anyone upset enough to fight. At least that is my opinion.

Interesting question that has a depressing answer. Because we are a nation of 330 million, generalizing works. The answer, politics will return to the ‘slow nudging’ toward socialism and/or globalism. Main reason: thousands of powerful forces want globalism while one powerful man with millions of supporters wants a strong fair country.

I base this on history:
No republican at any level will fight for anything.
Voters are passive aggressive, all talk no consequences.
Democrats and their voters (sheeple) will bring a gun to a knife fight.

The last 3 yrs. have shown what fighting back looks like and thus exposed how dirty the deep state/MSM/DNC/activists will get. No republican has ever fought back. It also has shown that even when patriots have someone fighting for them (Trump) they still sit on their butt instead of organizing demonstrations etc.

No republican would have made it one week under the pressure Trump has endured every day for 3 yrs.

So, after Trump serves another term, a rather moderate democrat will be elected and the republicans will compromise creating more debt and poison pill legislation will be dumped on our heads. Antifa will move back to mommy’s basement since soros no longer needs them. America will hit the snooze button again for 30 yrs. while globalism cripples the working class in this country.

To prevent this, to get ‘another Trump’ so to speak, one must believe that their presidency would be worth the onslaught. Right now, no sane person would bother. Its a one man fight and the opposition will do anything and everything to destroy your finances, legacy, character, future, family, and even freedom.

I hate to see all these doomsday posts.

We’ve had horrible Presidents (obama the worst) and a large percentage of our voters are corrupt. Most media is commie.

That said I am not ceding an inch. My plan is to stay here, work hard, pray, vote, volunteer, and trust God to preserve us even through horrible times.

You don’t lose until you quit. Persevero.
