The time and conditions are right for a fatal split in the Democratic party.
Todays Democrats are a weak union between intellectual and ideological members. The breaking point would be a strike at their mature image. Being labeled “A bunch of whinny babies throwing temper tantrums” would drive an internal battle for their public image.
This would tell the newbies that the public has the same level of respect for them as their senior members, NONE.
And it would make the senior establishment Democrats fear the loss of their perceived stature.
