"Winter is tough thought. I did go out in the snow last winter in barefeet but could never last longer than a few minutes. Not sure if that's enough for proper grounding."

Ice is an insulator. You must stay in one spot until all the ice and snow are melted, so you can directly contact the ground. If you do that, I'm sure it will have a great effect on you.

After having stepped on a nail that went thru my foot while barefoot, then jumping out of a boat barefooted and landing on a broken bottle and slicing my foot open, I never go barefooted anymore..........

I read something along time ago about being barefoot opening up parts of your brain that are shut off when you have shoes on your feet.

Buddhist practice “mindfulness” with grounding so I will think twice before I try it again.

Maybe you would have just felt better by spending time outdoors even with your shoes on. I don’t discount it though - more power to ya! I like to sungaze and I understand that works better barefoot as well.

Technically if grinding your body had anything to do with electricity one foot in the dirt for half a second is as effective as 6 hours of walking around.

If you are not properly grounded, you may produce 60 cycle hum when you speak or fart.

Many years ago, I was camping in a remote section of western desert (well it’s all remote) and cell phone coverage was spotty to nonexistent. I tried to phone home without success, to get a tower. I was using one of those 20 dollar TracFones. I found a high open area, still no luck. Then I considered that I needed a better antenna. I had some wire in the truck. But I knew a good ground plane is half of antenna circuit. So I kicked off my rubber flip-flops and got a signal and successfully made the call. That’s what they call “anecdotal” but it didn’t seem to hurt.

I doubt the new agey part about grounding. Hippies went barefoot all the time and look how wacked out they were.
