A massive power outage has been reported in NYC, it's probably nothing, but given the location, I would not want to be in Manhattan tonight, it could get interesting if the power is out for a significant length of time...

NO problemo. Walmart apparently is like Pedro's - South of the Border.
No need to shop in the USA.

“They just said huge power outage affect a significant part of NYC...as per Fox right now...”
Looks like a lot of people are on the streets. Traffic lights and subways aren’t working. Maybe I should be more concerned than I am. If I were out there now I’m sure I would be worried.

West 42nd St. to West 71st St, Fifth Avenue to the river. Basically all of Midtown West.
On the 42nd anniversary of the Great Blackout of 1977. To the day.

Do not call 911 and tell them you have no power.

There was another one in 2003, too.
I got caught in that one and the one in '65.

Transfire blew and there is a fire at the station. How long before FBI is investigating potential terrorism link?

NEVER...those underground wires, pipes, etc., are ANCIENT.

Midtown Manhattan is ok. Now. If the upper west side lost power for a wile, that would be great.

Did anyone here ever see the Nightgallery with Rod Serling? There was one with Joan Crawford playing a rich blind woman who buys the eyes of a down and out gambler?
It was set in NYC.

No, that was the lower end of Manhattan and the areas that were built on landfills. This is from 40th Street up to almost the 80s. And supposedly the fire that blew out the electricity was on 54th Street.
