This week’s Liberal Media Scream features journalist Carl Bernstein of Watergate fame calling for a deep dive on why people support President Trump.
On CNN’s Reliable Sources, Bernstein accused Trump of bringing a “cold civil war almost to the point of ignition” by promoting “undemocratic notions and authoritarian notions.”
And he urged an exploration of why people support him “no matter what he does, no matter how outrageous seemingly his conduct is.” He urged the media to do “some real reporting” by making “our table bigger in terms of our reportorial landscape.”
Carl Bernstein: “No president in the history of the United States in 246 years has expressed the kinds of ideas and thoughts and undemocratic notions and authoritarian notions that he has. We need to start connecting these dots. What do people in the country think of this and why do they think and support him, no matter what he does, no matter how outrageous seemingly his conduct is. We’ve got some real reporting to do ....”

Laden with sarcasm, I’m sure, but rhetorical, and though the one’s who would love to just get rid of the rubes and plebs in the middle of the country are a small minority, even if they ever wanted to get radical and execute plans to disarm and start a civil war, they would still need to troll them into acts that justify it.
You can go from the almost complete lack of physical incidents at Trump rallies during his campaigns even though the media tried to paint Trump supporters as angry, violent people, all the way to how the left can sponsor domestic terrorist groups openly and have them attack people in the streets and get away with it all the while trying to claim the right are the extremists, it is still amazing how much self control, discipline, and good faith attempt to keep law and order you get from the right and in particular Trump supporters. They really just don’t get trolled, because they really are the good and decent people of this country. It is the left who are bitter angry people who want to turn our society upside down even if there is blood.
So no. There will be no zyklon-B here, metaphorical or otherwise, unless the left can successfully troll the right into doing something ugly and have their excuse.

This is a very Stalinist tactic. First, investigate the opposition (2016 election). Second, plant lies about the probity of the opposition (”Dossier”). Third, declare the opposition to have broken the law and prosecute (Muller investigation). Fourth, publicly question/challenge the sanity and motives of everyone supporting the opposition (Bernstein). Fifth, remove all means by which the opposition can fight (anti-second amendment laws). Sixth, lock up everyone supporting the opposition.
Well Carl, Trump’s actions wouldn’t seem so “undemocratic and authoritarian” if you stooges in the media would stop lying. You are the ones bringing this to a boil, all because your shrew of a candidate got outsmarted. FO Carl. Your 15 minutes have long been up.

All reporters need to get off their butts, travel to the real America, find out what values are meaningful to residents, and then question and write on why Trump is supported. Today’s media are too focused on playing to each other, reinforcing the same common thread, and sitting back in smugness thinking how smart they are. Meanwhile, our major cities, infected with liberalism and socialism, continue to crumble and produce unruly citizens under Democratic rule. I used to think the original Robocop movie envisioned a future we would never approach but now find our country slipping toward it. Trump is the brake on the skid and badly needed at this time.
