Why now? The fact that the Southern District of New York is handling this provides the answer. With the Clinton-Obama-Mueller Collusion Hoax having collapsed, and the Democrat-controlled House investigations going nowhere, the SDNY is now the only real weapon left with which to try to decapitate the Trump presidency. The SDNY is going to try and get Epstein to rat on Trump. That is, they are going to force him to read lies from a pre-written script in open court to once again smear the President as either a pretext for impeachment or to destroy his bid for reelection.
For me, it smacks of desperation. They threw almost the entire apparatus of the Federal law enforcement and intelligence community at him along with almost every major and minor media outlet in the country and failed miserably, to the point that a clear majority of Americans now distrust the media and Congress more than ever, as the President's approval numbers hit record highs along with the economy his policies ignited. Pass the popcorn.

Most of them are nothing more than professional liars and con artists.
They're old and expendable. They know too much about bodies and locations. There could be an accident. There would be a nice funeral, world leaders would gather, half of America would further lose its collective mind, and then life would go on with a Democrat Party renewed and thriving because of the attention given to them in their passing.

I wondered what the catch was. It made no sense that this investigation would open up after Epstein was “fixed” once already.If he does lie for them the calculation is that it does not even matter if the lie is proven to be a lie shortly after it is made. They hope the damage is unreparable and the MSM will scream it and continue to scream it well after it is proved a lie. They probably want the revelation at the right time to be the top subject in the Election.
