Recently I examined a high school American history textbook.
Every. Single. Competing. Identity. Group had its beef presented in a jumbled litany of grievances.
There was no central unifying theme, no national identity (America, maybe?) no coherence.
Major historical events were woven, almost like afterthoughts, among the politically correct pontificating.
The book was an unreadable collection of complaints presented as facts.
I spoke to my state representative about this at a meet & greet. He looked panicky & said textbooks are written by special committees which erupt in all-out brawls over content & he’s glad not to be involved.
FReepers should get on textbook committees & take back the schools.
