Republicans worry that the NRA and two other groups that have long formed the core of their electoral infrastructure will be effectively on the sidelines.

The National Rifle Association aired an avalanche of TV ads and pushed its 5 million-plus members to the polls for Donald Trump in 2016, propelling him in the Rust Belt states that delivered him the presidency.

The Kochs should know they are a few Democrats away from federal wealth taxation.

If Wayne took private aircraft at the NRA’s expense to Europe to buy clothes - I have an issue with that. Ack-Mac needed to go and it did. Time will tell.

The NRA leadership is different than NRA members.
NRA members will vote by the millions for Trump.

Oliver North tried to save the NRA but the fat cats were too entrenched. Oliver North is the real deal and doesn't need money. He was trying to right the NRA's course.

“I’m sure a gun owner will vote Dem...”

There are a LOT of gun owners that consistently vote Dem and are just fine making possession of an AR a felony as long as the dems leave their grandpappy’s thuddy-thuddy alone.

The NRA does influence these fools and while I despise them as borderline traitors it is, in fact, necessary to have someone telling them not to vote D.

"I’m still a member."

So am I and my gift membership recipient. The NRA might be improved after learning lessons from its momentary indulgence in the vanities of today's cult of personality--much like a "Leave It to Beaver" episode. The Beave has learned his lesson. ;-)

“That was over a period of about 13 years”

Good point! Only a little over $20,000/year. I guess good suits wear out fast. Or go out of style every year. That is only the annual dues of around 450 people combined.

I won’t be helping to pay it, though. I can vote on the issues and urge others to do the same, and give money to those I think are worth it, all without the NRA.

As a lifetime member I get a little peeved at NRA leadership. I liked Col North though, but I outlived the Jimmy Carter admin and the Obama admin. I miss Charleton Heston and Tom Selleck. Voting for a Dem though is not in the cards. They wantem “molon Labe”.

NRA Lifetime member here. I can understand the Chamber of Commerce and the Koch brothers’ organization restructuring and stepping away from President Trump. The president won’t put up with their open borders policies. Unfortunately for them, the vast majority of Americans are for President Trump’s policies.

IMHO, the CoC and the Koch bros. can go stick it.

NRA hired a lawyer for an exorbitant 1.8 million a month, and he is a Hillary contributor. Something is rotten at the NRA lately.
Hickok 45 just broke off his association with the NRA on his channel.

North reportedly received about a million dollars a year through Ackerman. ...quite a bit of information about the debacle gathered here.

But despite the hope of the left, the NRA will not go away. Maybe the organization will put on some decent overalls, practice learning its shoulders forward, not hold its head so high and learn to speak to people like the rest of us. Maybe the NRA could even try more of our favorite music.

Oh, so then he only bills the NRA for 21,153 worth of clothes annually.
I guess it makes sense since he only makes around 975,000 a year. That clown needs to go.

I stopped reading at “Politico.”

Yep, Politico is nothing more than a left wing lunatic site as evidenced by the spin and the comments to the articles.......
