You can bet the journalist knows who everyone in the Antifa is and who the leadership are. He may not sue them but he can sue their parents for everything they have as well as the city if there is any collusion which there obviously is.

We have them in Canada, their main task at the moment seems to be to provide muscle at gay pride parades and engage neo-Nazis in brawls. The police are leftist enough in Canada to take their side in said brawls, hence only the far right goons get charged, the far left ones get a ride home in a cruiser.
Extremist politics is very confused at the moment. The far right want to be anti-Jewish and anti-Islamic at the same time, but sometimes they have to choose. The far left are inclined to be pro-Islamic but lose their membership cards for anti-Semitism; however, they can still be anti-Zionist.
Sane people just stay out of these extremist camps, that way it’s a lot easier to line up your beliefs in a consistent way.
The unspoken aim of the far left is to force the democratic right to make common cause with the far right so as to demonize our politics in the mainstream. To some extent it is working, at least to obscure how radicalized the “mainstream” left has become. The mainstream left is a lot closer to being extremist than is the mainstream right in contemporary politics. That is the dirty little secret that Antifa is trying to conceal from discovery by the sheeple.
