With the well-earned success of the Women’s Soccer Team in France, Megan Rapinoe has been much in the news. Soccer fans are focused on the goals and team play that has gotten the women two games away from the World Cup. On the other hand, those, like me, who cannot give a fat rat’s backside about soccer have been stunned by her display of selfishness.

Die hard soccer fans need to protest. Women’s soccer is having enough trouble attracting people to their pro league. This has actually hurt women’s soccer and justifiably so. Had the coaches taken action benching her for a game or two and say the team represents the entire USA including those who support the current Administration and USA Soccer does not want to alienate any fans, I would have supported the team. Instead they tried to ignore the insult to millions of Americans so screw the USWNT and screw women’s pro soccer.

I used to coach girls soccer and used the national team as the gold standard as role models go. Now,I am sickened by them and care less if they lose. The excuse is that it’s one player but the silence of the others including the coach says volumes. The Obama era gave America a disease that has infected America and has only spread through the Trump era. The amount of abuse the President has to endure is sickening.

First time I can ever remember hoping that a team claiming to represent the US loses. These women don’t represent the US, of course - they show contempt for the elected leader of the nation, the team captain refuses to show respect for the flag of the nation. They are self-centered leftists using what is supposed to be the nation’s team to promote their own interests. The corporations supporting Team USA should be held to account.
