A. It was a planned piece of deception from the get go. Everyone played their roles very well, especially Potus who is a seasoned actor.
B. The deception is wreaking untold havoc in Iran. Now their military will be on GQ status for weeks not knowing what to expect and that creates demoralization and discontent.
C. Trump can now negotiate with the factions in Iran who value what was done and let them convince the rest.
D. It’s totally dishonest to say Iran would have been blown off the map, the “threat” was of a limited tactical strike.

The title massively overstates the case.
If the report is true that Trump was told that casualties would be 150 people, there is NO WAY IN HELL a military strike of that magnititude would “wipe Iran off the map”.
Some folks just want to see us in another way and will say anything to spike up the fever for it.
We should start recognizing who among our “friends” are selling the drum beats.
Russian equipment = Russian advisors, Korea equipment= Nork advisors, which means a possible blow up and a drag in fight with multiple players. It would be like Spain 1936. Yeah, we can all test our new soldier toys, but at what cost to the population of Iran and her neighbors. We don’t need a spill over war with everyone in the Mid east. Before we decide to use the quick draw method, think it out first, we’ve spilled too much blood in Sierra Hotel countries.
Stupid headline. They were going to take out the launch site and its ancillary equipment. Trump knew that it was only a symbolic response, and it would have really bad optics with deaths that high over a piece of equipment.
He made the right choice. Killing 150 people because of a rogue general shooting down a drone not the best solution.
We shot down an Iranian airliner, killing over 200 in a similar circumstance long ago and had to do a lot of apologizing.
