Reminds me, back around 1996 when PeTA demanded the mayor of Fishkill, NY change the town’s name to Fishsaved, ignorant of the fact that “-kill” comes from the Dutch word meaning river or stream. When they realized how they embarrassed themselves they tried to spin it as a “lighthearted” attempt to bring attention to the fish suffering experienced at the hands of commercial fisheries as well as sports fishermen.
