It appears to me she’s physically repelled by him and he’s aware enough to know it.
It was a perfunctory kind of embrace.
Whoever was filming probably showed them a sign that said ‘Hug-NOW.”
That was less of an ‘Eye Roll’ than when GWB quietly stepped up to a seated Angela Merkel and decided to give her a back rub. She looked confused, annoyed and repelled.
I would not read too much into this. Of course there’s the huge age difference - so there’s that. But it’s mainly awkward due to the fact they were both sitting down. Not exactly easy to hug when you are sitting down. A fist bump would have been better in that setting.
