Will Meghan Markle and Prince Harry raise their baby to be black?
Los Angeles Times ^ | May 6, 2019 | Carla Hall

So, Meghan Markle, the American biracial wife of Prince Harry, did it. She managed to have their baby (a boy) on her own terms. Which is to say, at an undisclosed location — although we all know the young British royal couple has been holed up at their Windsor home with the fairy tale name of Frogmore Cottage, we don’t know where she actually gave birth — and on an undisclosed timetable. We all found out about the birth when Harry and Meghan announced it on Instagram. (Buckingham Palace announced it too.)

Nor did Meghan submit to the postpartum photo call. There will be no pictures of her making a red carpet departure from a hospital, looking preternaturally polished in full makeup and hair while wearing a dress and high heels and carrying a newborn (as her sister-in-law Kate Middleton, the wife of Prince William, did with all three of her children’s births), but who could blame her for nixing such a ridiculous ritual just hours after a grueling delivery? Instead, she dispatched her giddily happy husband to meet the press outside Windsor Castle — a stable with horses in the back — to gush, appropriately, about how incredible his son and wife are.

Probably many factors are at play. But, I remember blue-eyed guys literally saying they wanted to have blue-eyed children. They often said they were interested in blue-eyed girls for that reason. Not sure that holds true today, though. Interesting, really.

The question is how the hell do you raise one to be black?

You don't. This child will be a member of the Royal family and will be raised that way.

However, even if a child is raised to appreciate all of his ethnic ancestry, society will define him a certain way.

You see it right here on this forum. Already. And he's only a newborn baby.

The same is true for everyone, including those with European ancestries. Some people are identified as one ethnicity, just because of their last name and appearance, when in reality, they might have only 1/4 that ethnic ancestry (Robert DeNiro comes to mind).

I have a black friend married to a Swedish woman. Their kids, who are all gorgeous, look like lightly tanned Swedes.

I’m a southerner buddy

Like Shapiro DSouza lives to denigrate my ancestry

Underneath it he’s a crusader for brown colonials

And thinks if they come here they change which flies totally in the face of how most people of color act when they come here today culturally and voting

He’s a brown guy a newcomer obsessed with white ills more than any other

I have followed Dinesh since he wrote at Dartmouth and got the attention of the Heritage foundation

My then girlfriend who was at Columbia when I lived up there and her politics were left of center libertarian liked him.

She was white Jamaican and felt kinship with other Crown People and I think read a review on him in New York Times review of books

DSouza has good points otherwise but I wouldn’t look to him on European exceptionalism

I’d be more inclined to Pat Buchanan or Sam lol

I used to be more ecumenical if one takes race and culture as faith about this topic till I lived around the world and have now watched so much of the American politic become anti White

Since the baby mamma is from L.A., the boy will likely be a Blood or a Crip.

The child will be less than one-quarter black. Just what kind of "black" to they have in mind? When it comes to diction, for instance, will it be Idris Elba or Jay Z?

Idris Elba Teaches You British Slang

If you just listen to Idris, or any other black person born in UK, you cannot tell his race. Not so with African-Americans, who make a fetish of ebonics.

D’Souza, like David Frum, played the game of attacking conservatives that he didn’t like. For Frum it was Buchanan. For D’Souza it was Sam Francis. In both cases they were trying to marginalize paleocons as nasty xenophobic racists. Interesting that both Frum and D’Souza are imports. And that both Buchanan and Francis anticipated policies adopted by Trump.

It's still not that complicated. Read up on Gregor Mendel and you will know enough.
Though farmers had known for millennia that crossbreeding of animals and plants could favor certain desirable traits, Mendel's pea plant experiments conducted between 1856 and 1863 established many of the rules of heredity, now referred to as the laws of Mendelian inheritance.[4]

Always found this subject fascinating. I remember Mendelian genetics and Punnett squares from high school. Now the thinking is that certain traits, such as eye color, are polygenic, which is the reason why eye colors have so much variety.

Ooops!

William is the Uncle and Phillip the grandfather.

So many damned Princes over there that I can’t keep track of all the names.
