I don't know what the author is trying to do here. If you really want to get me to despise William Barr, the best way to do it is to suggest he's a lot like Dick Cheney.

Barr is the new Dick Cheney: a stocky, bespectacled, confrontational, blunt, intelligent, unapologetically conservative, experienced, and high-powered official who believes in and fights for the office of the president.

Dick Cheney was a big-government globalist who wasn't very conservative at all. I voted for Donald Trump because I was sick of @ssholes like him polluting my government.

By any objective measure, the guy operated as a Sunni Muslim in his capacity as VP of the United States.

How about his being the new Don Rumsfeld instead of Cheney?

Years back here on FR someone wanted Cheney to run.

I said I wouldn't vote for him.

Why, they asked.

I won't vote for anyone without a pulse...

Many have no problem ignoring Bill Barr’s actual track record while in Federal employ. I do have that problem.

He advocated for Federal agents to be immune from consequences for killing American citizens. He defended pro bono Lon Horiuchi, who assassinated Vicki Weaver while standing on her porch with her child in her arms. He also supported Second Amendment infringement legislation during his tenure.

I have found no evidence that he has repented of those acts and stands.

I consider him a statist: He believes in Federal power over the electorate, not the other way around.

I consider him an Institionalist, not a Constitutionalist. I expect he will try to clean up the alphabet apparatchik agencies, but will place the public reputations of said bureaucracies far above equal justice before the law.
