How far has the United States gone down the road of punishing people for uttering politically incorrect thoughts? Very far indeed, as an incident at the University of Louisville shows. Yes, we know that faculty in the “soft” fields of the social sciences endanger their careers if they happen to say something that upsets someone of “progressive” sensibilities, but the Louisville case involves a (formerly) esteemed medical school professor.
Evidently, no one is safe from the PC enforcers.
Dr. Allan Josephson has been in medical practice since 1976, specializing in childhood psychology. In 2003, has was chosen to be the chief of the University of Louisville Medical School’s Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Psychology. Over the years, he greatly improved the reputation of the Division, enlarging its faculty, securing grants, expanding programs, and serving more patients. He published extensively and his annual reviews were flawless.
But in the autumn of 2017, the university’s previously cordial relationship with Josephson took a U-turn when medical school officials learned that he had spoken about gender dysphoria in youth at an event hosted by the Heritage Foundation.
Josephson was one of three panelists. In his remarks, which are cited in the complaint he has filed against the university, he said that “Gender dysphoria is a socio-cultural, psychological phenomenon and cannot be fully addressed through medicine and surgery,” that the current treatment “neglects the developmental needs of children and relies on ideas that are not true,” that “the notion that gender identity should trump chromosomes, hormones, reproductive organs…when classifying individuals is counter to medical science,” and that “transgender ideology neglects the child’s need for developing coping and problem-solving skills necessary to meet developmental challenges.”

Reference was made repeatedly to the "opioid epidemic" in America, but, during the entire three-day event, a fundamental cause of the epidemic of drug abuse was practically ignored: the flow of illegal drugs into the USA, primarily from Mexico, Colombia, India, and China.
In one of the seminars, I brought up this subject aloud. The flow of illegal drugs had been mentioned but not addressed. I said that this was a fundamental part of the epidemic. My observation was met with little more than silence. The moderator said that the subject was complicated. I said that this should be a major focus of the entire conference. If anyone agreed with me, no one said so.
All is war now. Target the school. Target the individuals who made the complaint and those who made the adverse decisions. Conservative NGOs could, for instance, hire Private Investigators to dig into the background of each radical leftist, their families, and associates. Make them spend money for their activities. Make them pull back or face the consequences.
Yes, there are labs in China cranking out kilo batches of fentanyl and sending it to us by mail, but we must crack down on physicians in the USA prescribing Vicodin for workers with bad backs. And arming librarians with Narcan.

I hope I’m around when the pendulum swings the other way and those who whine and cry like little baby snowflakes are punished publicly by exposing their insidious lack of moral fiber/courage and privately by seeing them get a failing grade in school or fired at the workplace. While I don’t think they should go to jail like those who speak their mind in Europe are; some form of probation might not be a bad idea. Get woke; get fined and get probation for a first offense. Make it hurt financially and put their faces on the whiner website for all to see.
Was in a AFB hospital with my wife yesterday and noticed a sign that read (closest I can remember):
“No matter your gender, you are entitled to have a (same sex) escort accompany you. Inquire if you want one.”
It seems they are allowing that there are two sexes because there’s no way they can provide a “gender” match....but who knows...
My observation was not happily received, and I doubt that it had any positive effect.

My problem with Dr Allan Johnson is his using gender identity instead of sex. To me, gender identity is Newspeak, so what does it matter what Newspeak gender people claim?
When did medical sites begin replacing the word sex with gender?
