Do any of you remember the meteoric rise of actress Pia Zadora in the early 1980s? She was on every magazine cover and TV show. In fact, I recall watching a 1980s "NIGHT OF 1,000 STARS" on ABC-TV, and one of the famous actors said something to the effect of: "If this place goes down with all of us inside of it, then Pia Zadora has her big break!"
But, what goes up must come down. I see so many similarities between AOC's meteoric rise and Zadora's. Interesting and intriguing, yet empty inside. Zadora's career tanked in the late 80s, and after a string of husbands and a domestic abuse charge against her son, she lives a quiet life as a cop's wife.
Where do we see AOC in 30 years?
Moon Unit Zappa had a hit record with "Valley Girl"
She also did the dubbed-in vocal of "Smelly Cats" and the title siong to "Two and A Half Men"
While the pecker puss Pelosi tries to kill her off, I hope we keep her alive. She’s just so stupid.
Pia Zadora got a foot in the door in Hollywood thanks to her husband, who was 30 years older and a wealthy financier/corporate raider. While not unattractive, she did not have either standout looks or acting ability so even having this rich guy behind her couldn't sustain her career. (Of course, just that odd situation may have hurt her too.)
AOC's rise is due to the fact that to many people, she seemed like a breath of fresh air. And despite some occasional gaffes and not having all the accumulated wisdom of someone a little older, she is actually much smarter and has more natural political talent than she is often credited with. Many people don't like and/or are afraid of her, but at least as many actively like her. So if she doesn't get tired of being attacked, and learns from her mistakes, she is going to be around for a while.
Here, here!
Xavier Cougat’s protégé was CHARO!
What happens to them afterwards? Republicans have a way of ending up on talk radio, but where do the Democrats go? Few of either party end up in prison or with restraining orders, though that does happen sometimes.
Politics has a lot of overlap with show business, but you have to have talent in show biz and be appealing to audiences. You have to keep your looks and keep people interested. In politics, if you've got a line to push and enough chutzpah you can probably find a decent berth somewhere.
AOC probably won't end up on the breadlines after her day in the sun is over. Cable news or a college or foundation will probably make room for her.
Yup, and she was dating Jon-Erik Hexum when he shot and killed himself in the head with a blank on set of a tv show.
That’s a name that rings a bell, but no face appears...sounds about right for AOC....
I'm thinking broke, homeless and living on the streets in San Francisco ....
