There's no question that animosity exists on both sides of the political spectrum, but have you noticed how personal it has become for many on the left?

It is disturbing how intolerant and filled with rage leftist extremists have become, and how many more people are falling into the category of leftist extremism.

But what concerns me as much as this pattern of ill will and abuse from leftists is that it is unchecked by their peers and often applauded. Instead of encouraging people to appeal to the better angels of their nature, they are beckoning them to summon their demons and become part of a mob mentality -- as if we're witnessing a replay of events that preceded the French Revolution.

It's unsettling that they rationalize their misbehavior as justified, even warranted. They've convinced themselves that conservatives' views are so noxious they've forfeited any expectation to be treated civilly and they deserve to be shunned, muzzled and boycotted -- especially members of minority groups who have strayed from the reservation. They are "garbage people," "deplorables" and subhumans who are not entitled to equal rights, let alone decent treatment.

IMHO, Germany did the same thing to the Jews in the 1930's.. Hitlers Nazi party was a minority not a majority, Even when hitler was made chancellor, they (nazi's) were still a minority. The German people were tired of war, tired of reparations for ww1, there was a global depression. That’s been my observation ever since they have come right out into the open with their MSM not even trying to cover up the agenda. With people like Cortez openly stating their agenda. With people like Nancy actually wanting to flood the country with illegals.

We have two saviors right now, the first and foremost is the 2nd Amendment people believe in and have taken upon themselves to be armed to the teeth. Second is Trump, who is making an effort to push this all back.

Hitler had the advantage of disarming Germany civilians. That’s one advantage the left will never acquire.

I have no idea what will trigger or when the general populace will start to push back in an organized and armed manner, but it will happen if Trump is unsuccessful. I see it as an armed struggle between flyover states and big cities of the left coast with their allies the north eastern states.

His conclusion is that he is hopeful that Democrat leaders can rein in the juggernaut of hate spewing from the left. He’s whistling past the graveyard. It is accelerating and there is no stopping it.

When the whole left has dehumanized all conservatives it becomes a lot easier to murder them and load friends and your family into box cars. This is what leftist and Democrat leaders are building toward.

The Leftists’ rage has been fueled, in large part, by GOP weakness and appeasement. The Left senses this weakness and it only encourages them to step up their incivility and personal attacks.

They have no reasons to respect or fear the GOP, which they know is just a punching bag that will never stand up to them. That is why they hate Trump so much; unlike the GOP he is always on offense and punches back HARD.

Not saying the GOP caused the Left to get angry and unhinged. Just making the age old point that weakness invites aggression. Always has, always will. Strength wins; weakness losees.

Until the time comes that WE elect people who are fighters nothing will change. The Left will continue escalating its jihad against conservatives.

I have been finding it difficult to believe a genuine terrorist organization like Antifa has been able to operate in the open.

Leftists, as the headline suggests, are whipping themselves into a "Jacobin frenzy" because that is their nature.

There are many factors coalescing to remove the leash which has usually but not always restrained leftists' impulse to go full guillotine. When that leash is loosed, The Black Book of Communism documents for us 100 million examples of that impulse.

Why do leftists have this impulse reposing within them like a virus only waiting to emerge opportunistically when they sense they are unleashed? To answer a question about first principles one should go to the original source. The first books of the Bible tell us why, because they would be God.

What are the factors that have coalesced to energize this virus? Nathan Bedford's first Maxim of American politics: all politics in America is not local (as tip O'Neill would have it) but ultimately racial. Leftists have cornered the market on allegations of racism which means that they, by definition, win every argument. It means that they have immunity from criticism, especially in the media which means that they are almost never held to account. Why has Donald Trump then the victim of a hoax for two years while Hillary Clinton was corruptly exonerated for her felonies? Because a different standard applies, and that standard comes from the basic presumption that Republicans are bad and Democrats are good and that is because Republicans are racists and Democrats are not.

Recently as we all know, homophobia, gender inequality, tribalism, and bigotry have been added to racism as new weapons of slightly different caliber to immunize the left and demonize the right.

Academia has contributed a weapon to further marginalize the right, "critical thinking" which has morphed into its antonym, "uncritical thinking" or political correctness which requires unanimity of thought bordering on that of a cult. With time, academia has fed all our other institutions including the media, the courts, our banks, and our churches with generation after generation of uncritically thinking leftists who, because of Nathan Bedford's first Maxim of American politics and its sequelae have arrived at a level of arrogance which permits them to feel safe, to unleash the Jacobin impulse.

Throw in George Soros' money (always follow the money) and that of Wall Street and K St., and the power of the cult becomes complete with no chance for the host of the virus to even understand much less curb his lust to be God.

Good comments overall but in particular the one above. Academia is the wellspring of liberalism. But its even worse than that; academia is not only producing and enabling radical leftists, it is now turning a blind eye toward their increasing intolerance and extremism.
