More often than not, most of these leftists who cry poor on necessities willingly spend money on the latest phones, clothes, or other nonessential services.
I recall someone whining how their cable bill was so expensive and their kid needs the interned for school work. Eventually the admitted they had one of the highest tiers offered with HBO, Showtime, etc. It never occurred to them to cut back by either going internet only or cutting to just basic TV channels.
