After making 22 movies that tell one cohesive story, while grossing almost $20 billion worldwide along the way, whats Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige doing next? The same thing all over againwith a whole new set of toys.
The April 26 release of Avengers: Endgame will bring closure to the first 11 years of Marvel Studios films. Then, in 2020, the company will start Phase Four of its Cinematic Universe, the next chapter of the larger story with new heroes, all of which will feel the impact of the events of the past. Plus, now that Disney has acquired 20th Century Fox, those stories could potentially include the X-Men. According to Feige, though, fans should not hold their breath for that.

Not directed at you but every poster was negative. Im sure you appreciate movies. I wrote a positive Captain Marvel review here and got nothing but negatives. Sorry if I was over sensitive.
I liked the 1st Thor film, HATED the second (dark elves were boring) and loved the 3rd (Ragnarok).
The Incredible Hulk’s first installment was so boring I couldn’t finish it. Haven’t seen Captain Marvel yet.
One of the things I liked about Iron Man is that they didn't short change Tony Stark's engineering side and how hard he works to build things. They give a lot of screen time to him just working and figuring things out.
Im sorry for jumping to name-calling. In fact, Im glad to have the air cleared because I always feel bad when I go negative on someone. I dont want any FR enemies (but dont read my reply to Laz just in case!). I hope you enjoy the next phase in spite of my misgivings.
I love you. Let's get married.
The irony is that the real “Captain Marvel” in the Marvel Universe was a black woman, and the diversity crowd whitewashed her out of existence.
The character in the movie of that title is actually “Ms. Marvel” in the Marvel Universe - a completely different character.
So there was already a role model for black kids to look up to - and she was eliminated for being inconvenient.
“I liked the 1st Thor film, HATED the second (dark elves were boring) and loved the 3rd (Ragnarok).”
I agree with that. 2 was completely forgettable. 3 was hilarious.
Interesting ty.
Have you ever seen any of Teen Titan Go? Maybe it is juvenile, but I think it is hilarious.
You’re both right about the 3 Thor movies except I still find things to enjoy in Thor 2. Eric is always great, Loki, Oden and the death of Freida and her funeral. Also the music. But the villain acted like what we used to call “as if he had a load in his pants”. 1 and 3 are just great movies.
Correct I think there were 2 Hulk movies that sucked. The one with Nick Nolte was on the other night. Just bizarre and boring. Another waste of Jennifer Connelly.
It’s a bore. Superheroes “fighting” by throwing electricity balls at each other. The fighting is usually to gain control of some magic MacGuffin device. Snarky lines are delivered.
Yawn...
As did I. But not looking forward to Ms. Larson upsetting the very effective male dynamic of the crew.
I'm with you on the first Guardians. The main characters were a hoot, and were usually the first to be laughing at themselves. Part of the appeal, unless you are a real Marvel nerd, is that these "superheroes" were so non-heroic. I had no idea who they were, didn't even realize until the movie started that they were part of the MCU. The second one wasn't quite as good, in my opinion, maybe because I knew what to expect with the main gang, and the whole Kurt Russell thing seemed too contrived.
Black Panther was political correctness on steroids, even more so than the last two Star Wars disasters put together. The less said about those three wastes of money, the better.
Robert Downy Jr IS Ironman.
I never liked the comic Ironman but RDJ made him come alive.
The entire franchise will die if RDJ moves on to something new.
My comments - on various threads - were neither entirely positive nor entirely negative. I do not recall if I read yours or not.
I disputed anyone who called Captain Marvel a Mary Sue, or charged that she was a modern feminist/SJW product. I also opined that Brie Larson was not the best choice for the role, although I predicted it would be a $1 Billion blockbuster regardless of how good it was.
Mary Sue dates from the early 1970s Star Trek fanzines: a parody of the adolescent prodigies common in amateur short stories who were, without training or experience, superior to all trained and experienced adults.
Carol Danvers was a highly trained military service adult, first on Earth, then with the Kree. She gained powers from Mar-Vell’s DNA in an explosion of a Kree device.
As for the other criticism, first as an officer, then as a superhero, the feminist aspect was always a part of the character’s story arc.
I was collecting back in the 60s. I actually owned Marvel Super-Heroes #s 12 (Mar-Vell debut, 1967) & 13 (Carol Danvers debut, 1968), and Ms. Marvel #1 (Kree-empowered Danvers, 1977).
I also remember The Fantastic Four #2 (1962): the debut of the Skrulls. They were invading alien villains, ruthless and dangerous.
My big problem with the story - and the real SJW propaganda of the movie - was turning the Skrulls into innocent immigrant victims just wanting a home of their own.
The anti-MAGA metaphor was utterly flagrant, and a complete subversion of the Skrulls from their introduction at the virtual dawn of the Silver Age Marvel Comics - done purely for leftist political reasons.
You are free to enjoy the movie. As a former collector who really knows the source material first hand, I am free to criticize it.
She is a different character than the one you cite, but she is not a completely separate character as you imply. (See my prior post 38.)
Carol Danvers was introduced right after Mar-Vell, and was a close associate of his. She was imbued with Kree powers from Mar-Vell’s DNA. You cannot get more closely connected than that to the original (Marvel Comics) Captain Marvel.
She thus predates the others with the title, and was Captain Marvel in all but name. She finally took the title officially in 2012, at the urging of Captain America.
I owned all of those pertinent issues - 50 years ago.
For me, the Stark snarkiness was far overdone. I think less would have done more in selling the character as believable.
Captain America, the character and the trilogy, were the MCU highlights for me. Whatever his politics, Chris Evans played the role better than I could have imagined.
