Today’s Campaign Update (Because The Campaign Never Ends)
Liberals: It’s not what they don’t know that’s the problem, it’s what they “know” that just isn’t so. – The multi-generational ignorance of Democrat Party leaders was on display over the weekend, and it is glorious.
First up was the elderly face of the Democrat Party, 80 year-old Maxine Waters, who was apparently off her meds and went off into a dementia-driven rant during an interview at the NAACP’s Image Awards. First, she outrageously compared the congressional Democrats’ absurd requests for the release of an unredacted Mueller report and all of its background documentation to … wait for it…oh, you have to wait for this one…APARTHEID. I swear I do not make this stuff up – who could?
She then clearly demonstrated she has no clue about the size of the Mueller report, saying “No matter what has been revealed thus far and there’s only four pages of what appears to be a report of about, maybe somewhere between 3,000, 4,000 pages.” Oh. For accuracy’s sake, pretty much every media outlet in America has reported that Mueller’s report consists of about 300 pages, so Waters was only off by a factor of about 10, which is far closer than she normally gets to the reality of any given situation.
But the best part of Mad Maxine’s rant about the absolute, irreversible necessity for she and her despicable colleagues in congress to get their grasping claws on every shred of paper Mueller and his team generated, is her statement that, well, they really don’t need it after all:
“And so, no matter what this report is thus far, we have seen enough. We have seen right before our very eyes the obstruction of justice in so many ways.” Oh. Ok. So it’s absolutely, 100% mandatory that you see the whole report and all of its documentation, but you’ve seen enough already, and really don’t need to see any of it at all. Gotcha.
Next up in the Democrat Party Parade of Nitwits was another Usual Suspect, the spoiled child Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. AOC, as she likes to be called, doesn’t have advancing age as a rationalization for her complete lack of acquaintance with reality – with her, it just plain damn ignorance compounded by absolute arrogance.
Given a three-hour platform by her willing accomplices at MSNBC to pitch her imbecilic “Green New Deal” to America’s growing legion of mind-numbed masses, AOC preached (and as Grabien News notes, it was without question a religious event) about all manner of Socialist nitwittery to the adoration of the carefully-constructed, invited audience. As it always is with her, as long as she was sticking to the array of talking points written for her by her “Justice Democrats” handlers, the Bronx Bartender did fine.
The problem came when she decided to ad lib from those messages, as when she rewrote history by claiming that some nebulous “they” amended the U.S. constitution to boot Franklin Roosevelt out of office:
“They had to amend the Constitution of the United States to make sure Roosevelt did not get reelected.”
Because, of course, rewriting history is always one of the first goals of Marxist thugs in taking over any country. For the record, FDR passed away while serving his fourth term in 1945. The 22nd amendment, which limits president’s to two full terms in office, was enacted by the nebulous “they” in 1947.
Then, there was this handy justification for government control of the means of production:
“We are dealing with a crisis of how our economy is made up. Our economy is increasingly financialized. Which means we’re making profits off of interest and off of leasing your phones, off of doing all these things, but we’re not producing and we’re not innovating in the way we need to as an economy.”
What a load of fresh, smelly horse manure that is.
Again, for the record, our economy is booming, performing better during 2018 than it has in well over a decade. America over the past two years has seen a massive rebirth in its manufacturing sector, which has produced hundreds of thousands of jobs and hundreds of billions of dollars in investments, and our society has over the last 20 years experienced a level of technological innovation that vastly surpasses any period in human existence and would be considered absolutely miraculous by anyone born prior to the 20th century.
What AOC and Mad Maxine show us is that abject ignorance and despicable mendacity are not things bound by age, generation or personal experience. These people live in their own made-up dream world, and unfortunately, that dream world is shared by millions of similarly ignorant Americans.
Which precisely describes the basic working model for today’s Democrat Party.
