Never Trumpers like Ernst have a problem. When Ernst hears from her constituents, instead of tuning out the anti trump propaganda thereby recognizing these ‘constituents’ as plants, she agrees with them. What can she do then?

Iowa republicans are backwards. They absolutely love open borders and environmentalism. They want Mexicans for labor and government subsidies for corn and no Chinese tariffs so they can sell pork And soy beans. Iowa patriotism is up to the highest bidder.
I remember in the earlier days when Rush would be out and have a guest host fill in. The poor guest host was BOMBARDED by (left-wing) callers bitching about Rush. Callers who knew enough to not try taking Rush head-on, but figured they had a panzy in his substitute. (side note: we all remember ‘substitute teachers’ from our grade school days - my wife got FIRED because she didn’t take any crap from the kids when she stepped in)
Similar here - they see A WOMAN, a ‘weak’ woman (as they see it), and so the Left POUNCES.
She needs to DOUBLE DOWN and say that she is 100 PERCENT for Trump’s agenda, regardless of whether it’s completely true.
If she does that, the Leftists will give up on her, and stop annoying and ambushing her. She will, of course, be free to support, or not support, Trump on specific issues, but she will NEVER AGAIN be harassed by them, either way.

Yes, and if she really believes the question, “... his emergency declaration at the border and why...” was sincere, she should have ask the person making the statement how many Hondurans he has taken in to his house.
But she seemed to be granting good faith status to those questions and responding to them accordingly, which is something stupid Republicans do as a matter of course.
