New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern announced on Thursday that the nation now plans to enact extreme gun laws in the wake of last week’s terrorist attack: Banning semiautomatic firearms and forcing citizens to turn in the banned weapons.

Congress doesn’t nominate Federal judges; the President does, subject to confirmation in the Senate by simple majority. Left wing activists aren’t likely to nominated by PDJT as they were under Obama, and if they were, the still-majority Republican Senate would not vote to confirm.
Push for confiscation comes in the form of legislation; the House has already passed a huge gun grabbing bill which is guaranteed to be either DOA in the Senate or be vetoed by the President.
Now, if you mean there are lots of liberal Obama appointees out there who will eagerly sign Red Flag warrants to confiscate guns from fingered citizens, then yes, that is a clear and present danger.
The House could conceivably invite them to testify as to their eagerness to confiscate, with a pep talk from the Waddler or Swalwell or AOC or the Hijabi Bitch, but that’s the extent of their influence over judges, which would also be an unseemly corruption of judicial independence under Separation of Powers.
By the time ardern is done, Kiwis will need a permission slip from the government to use the restroom.

If incarceration doesn’t work, that just leaves the
death penalty, which is what they really mean.

NZ is in for a real surprise when tourists refuse to return over this.
It is my favorite country but I’d rather visit Austria-Switzerland-Poland right now.
