True, Freedom is not free. And Americans have become obese.
However, I am of the opinion that what you list as a cause is actually a symptom.
Perhaps you may wish to google “The Communist Manifesto”, and consider other causes. I would be interested in your thoughts after perusal of the above document.
Thank you,

Looking forward to it.....ever hear “Ten Shekels & a Shirt” by Paris Reidhead from the ‘60’s? A classic.
Ever hear why Pope John Paul wanted to become a priest? I’ll have to PM that one......
There is no slippery slope toward loss of liberty, only a long staircase where each step down must first be tolerated by the American people and their leaders.

The Roman Catholic Church is a church within the 23 rites of the Catholic Church. It is not a state.
There is a state that is the Vatican. In it resides the bishop of Rome and the head of the Latin Rite (called the Roman Catholic rite) and the primus inter pares of the 23 rites of the Catholic Church.
The Maronite, Syro-Malabar, Byzantine, etc. Churches are not based in the Vatican.
the link you gave is hilariously historically inaccurate - almost as bad as a huffpost piece
1. “Augustine was effective in winning Arabs to Catholicism” - triply wrong:
a. Augustine was in the 4th century - the Catholic, Orthodox and Oriental (Coptic, Syriac etc.) churches were one - there was no specific Catholic church).
b. There were NO arabs in North Africa in the 4th century - they came with the Arab invasion.
c. Augustine was a Berber and the people in North Africa were either Greeks or Berbers.
d. All of the North African coast was Christian
2. “Augustine created Islam” - hilarious - Islam came 400 years later.
3. “Islam is Romanism” - again, doubly hilarious - the Sunnah specifically discredits any clericalism or a bishop
4. Revelation 17 calls the city of Jerusalem in 69 AD as the harlot-city. This is clearly evidenced in the book itself which says the harlot-City of jerusalem was devoured by the beast (the roman empire)
5. “the Roman Catholic Church” — sheesh, at the time of Augustine, there was a Christian army- that of Theodosius who ruled the entire Mediterranean world.
Your link Norski - is biblically and historically false - fake news.
