That is so 2009, when Hussein said since we all lost our jobs that were not coming back we would have more time to spend with our familes.
Multiple generations could move in together just like the Waltons.
The wife was the spiritual leader of the home.
Men need to lead.
I remember an episode where the family was against an older family member getting married. His proposal was very business-like. The episode ended with a narrative that he died. His wife(she accepted) died 6 months later of a broken heart. Beautiful.
You still watch Fox News? They no longer care for FReeper types.
Can’t answer that one for you. The show first came out when I was 13, and I never saw one full episode.
The Waltons was noting but whining about how terrible life was up on the mountain, even though they were portrayed as being fairly well off with a truck to get to town often and a fairly successful sawmill business. The only character I liked was the mother. Now if you want wholesome, Little House on the Prairie is a far better TV show in that category. Much more upbeat and even funny episodes.
Father Knows Best. 8>)
The Waltons is an order of magnitude better family fare than anything on TV today. Yes, there’s overtones of old style progressivism here are there and the show holds FDR in high regard but there’s none of the toxic post modern filth of the Left. The only snowflakes are frozen rain in winter episodes.
It can be paired with other shows like Gunsmoke, Bonanza, the Munsters or the Addams Family, Gilligan’s Island, I Love Lucy, the Honeymooners, Beverly Hillbillies, F-Troop ... the list is truly impressive and though there may be weirdness in some there’s really no degeneracy.
Those to avoid are mainly the ones presenting witchcraft as an active component of all stories in any positive light as if perfectly normal like Bewitched. This is where Addams Family and Munsters weirdness of the characters helps to prevent what does show up as being seen as normal.
Since I've seen it I've modeled my entire life after Animal Mother. And it must be said that Eight Ball was right...people have been throwing hand grenades at me for years.
I love the original movie, “The Homecoming” as well. My family watched it last Christmas.
He annoyed me, too. Like a lib “journalist”. Found out later that Will Geer was a pedo supporter. Used to love him as a kid. No more.
I wouldnt buy it. I think I read somewhere that the actors that played the grandfather and the father, Ralph Waite, were avowed commie libs.
Watch the “Dirty Harry” series; he was a better man and “handled” things they way they needed to be done. “Death Wish” is also a good one for “rectifying misdeeds”, from others.
Seriously, read The Bible, if you haven’t already.
Oh! That’s another one I will check out. Thanks!
I believe this is the pilot. Im pretty neutral on your buy. You dont have to worry about being exposed to the garbage youll see today. I remember it as being a moral family show.
Actually right now I am watching one of the best series ever, “Perry Mason”.
