This is a great deal I found this week at Aldi. Only $1.99 per pound for this corned beef. In fact, I was surprised it happened so early since St. Patrick's Day is still 2 weeks away. I'm sure there will be other deals but why wait? Grab this one while there are still supplies available. In addition to enjoying this corned beef for dinner, I also heated up several slices of leftover corned beef along with eggs and had them for breakfast this morning.

Note: I am NOT shilling for Aldi and have no connection (financial or otherwise) to Aldi except for shopping there. I just wanted to let everybody know about this deal especially since at this time of year, a lot of folks are interested in cooking corned beef. Oh, and if I see any other great corned beef deals at other stores I might do a video about them too but, again, not shilling but passing along useful information.

Thanks! That’s a great price. I always buy 2 and freeze one.

On a related note, this week will be a great week for sales on fish and seafood. Aldi’s has plenty but so do other supermarkets in my area. I’m stocking up!

Not to be too picky but you’re actually searing it in the frying pan then braising it in the oven.

You got a helluva bargain there bud. My Aldis is selling it for $2.99/lb which is still a great deal. Are you sure it said "POINT CUT" on the package? The same brand is selling another type of corned beef but for a higher price. If it says "POINT CUT" you should be able to get it for $1.99/lb.

Thanks for the tip. I’ll be heading to my Aldi - which has a limit of two per customer - in a little while. My family LOVES corned beef and this is the time I year I stock up. It freezes well.

“Are you sure it said “POINT CUT” on the package?”
Good call. Mine is for the flat cut. No point cut advertised here.

Thanks for the tip. Ill be heading to my Aldi - which has a limit of two per customer - in a little while. Yeah, I didn't know about that limit when I bought four of them together. The cashier didn't say anything about that limit to me. In fact she didn't know anything about corned beef so I told her how great they taste and to be sure to boil them with cabbage.
If you want more than two, just go to the store with your spouse and pick up the four packs that way.

I didn’t realize that until now. Given how pro BBQ pit masters covet the points for the burnt ends, that surprised me.

The points are fattier. They work much better at low heat on a grill to impart the necessary juiciness required for awesome barbecue.

I was in an Aldi a while back buying something that had a “per customer” limit, and asked how they enforced it.
The response was “Generally we don’t, unless someone is buying an outrageous quantity”.
