I think a lot of people were shocked at the 2014 election; but Brown was a complete nothingburger candidate, and didn’t excite anybody - even to dislike. And, Hogan worked Very Hard on that election. I remember being surprised that they had even bothered to place so many signs and campaign in an area like mine. But it paid off.

“The republicans did not blow it. They did exactly as their uniparty masters told them to do.”

And therefore you give these grown men and women a pass? They sell us all down the river and you are willing to accept these excuses?

May your chains set lightly upon you...

It seemed that way to me. But if I got you all wrong, then I apologize.

I should have asked you for clarification first.

It could just be a ploy. Right now he's "Larry Who?"

Becoming "Larry Hogan, Potential Presidential Candidate" could unlock many doors for the guy, even if he doesn't run.

Keep an eye on his weight, though. If he starts dieting it could be sign he'll run.

If eating contests were part of the nomination process, Larry have the inside track to succeeding President Chris Christie.

If I had my way half of the Republicans in office would be thrown out in the street as a message to the rest.

He’s going nowhere in a primary with Trump and if anything would maybe a bit splinter the Never Trump GOPe challenge candidates. Moreover, Maryland is beyond hope and means nothing in the general.

If anything IMO his entry maybe actually a bit helps Trump against, say, Mitt being in there as well.

I’m sure Governor Cancer Charity Scam will be just as popular in the 2020 GOP primary as Owe’Malley was in the 2016 Democrat primary.

Maryland “Freak State” PING!

Governor Hogan has done a good job here in Maryland. I voted for him twice. (Many conservatives opposed him in his primary, but got fully behind him once he was nominated.)

Hogan did an excellent job handling the Baltimore riots, when the city government did nothing. He’d cut taxes as much as he could, given a heavily Democrat legislature. There are things I don’t like, but I expected that.

I am fine with Hogan as governor of a state like Maryland. Unfortunately, he’s term limited and I don’t know if Lt. Gov. Rutherford (the latest of three straight African American Lieutenant Governors) can hold the office.

But Hogan as president is a different thing. He’s too Establishment for me. He’s certainly no Trump. He would be better than anyone the Dems have to offer, but he’s something of a Bushie type.

Hogan will not act in ways that alienate his Marxist opposition. His beef with Trump is more personality than principle. He is a very strong establishment politician, more like Ryan and Romney than a give em hell conservative. He honestly believes it is possible to work with progressives, in spite of his failure to do so.
He is very careful not to align himself with conservatives out of his self defined mainstream.
