Merry Christmas to all.......
He was popular when I was stationed at RAF Welford back in the early 70’s...
Good for Cliff on beating back this failed attempt to destroy him. I came to know of him and his music via his association with Larry Norman:

Unfortunately no one in the police nor the BBC will suffer personally as a result of this ruling; no one will be sacked and they will all continue to draw their salaries and pensions just as before. And they will continue down the same road. The bill will be picked up by neither the police nor the bbc, but by the long suffering ordinary tax-payers. The police bill will be picked up by increases in local council taxes which will be increased next spring. The bbc probably by taking away free tv licences from pensioners. This is how it works when the socialists gain control.
Cliff gave a young Olivia Newton-John a huge boost when he had her on his UK tv show in the early 1970s. They toured together as well during that time period. There is a photo of them also during that time frame in this article from the Daily Mail.
Cliff Richard was regarded as the Elvis Presley of Britain.
