I need to drop 26 pounds by my Friday weigh-in in order to reach 220 pounds for a total loss since May of 100 pounds. However, I won't quite get there this time but the good news is that I AM NO LONGER FAT!!!
A few days ago I noticed this new non-fat condition while walking by a full length mirror. A condition that until recently I doubted I would ever be able to obtain after years of trying and failing to lose weight.
Although I won't hit the 100 pound loss by Friday, I am pretty sure it will be happening by the next weigh-in in February. And at that time I will have a YUUUUUUGE announcement.
Congratulations! I hope you can maintain it while still enjoying flavor every so often. It’s tricky and different for each person.
When I hit my final goal, 50 carbs per day is okay to maintain my weight.
Congratulations! The hard part now is to not think you are “cured” and going back to old eating habits.
Congrats! I lost about 60 lbs. a few years ago doing Atkins. Put most of it back. Carbs are highly addictive. Maybe I’ll try to get back to my original wait after the new year. 7 LBS 12 OZ.
Congratulations! That is an amazing accomplishment and I bet you feel great!
I too have been losing weight and have lost 28 of my 35 pound goal by watching my daily calories (1,950 cal/day) and working out 5 days a week. I eat whatever I feel like eating, just smaller portions and I don’t go back for seconds.
The closer I get to my goal, the more motivated I feel.
Carbs are highly addictive.
~~~
So true!
But it’s the damnedest thing, while they are addictive, they don’t make you feel better. At least not for me.
After 5 weeks in ketogenesis, I had my first cheat day last Saturday. Pizza and Beer. I was looking forward to it. But you know what, I had too much pizza the beer made me feel like I was a balloon. Other than tasting old favorites again, I actually didn’t get much out of it at all and actually felt uncomfortable. But wouldn’t you know it, for the next few days, I was craving those carbs. I wanted more pizza. So strange how that addiction works.
Way to go! Losing 74 pounds is an achievement to be very proud of. Holiday sweets and social eating are a trying time; well-meaning people will do their best to ruin you hard work. Suggest planning non-harmful food, portion limits, extra exerise in advance.
Is your method fully low carb?
Psst! Crave Stop.
Congrats!
Also, as I am 220-ish lbs., thank you for letting me know that I am no longer fat!
Pretty much plus exercise. All the other time I tried to lose weight, my carb cravings got to me but this time I don't have them due to using Crave Stop.
Mom used to tell me I was born at 11:07 and weighed 11-7. Er, maybe I weighed 7-11. That’s it! 7-11 at 11:07.
Congratulations! I too, have lost weight following a low carb diet. I have been very bad since Thanksgiving, though. I’ve probably gained back a few pounds. I’m not going to beat myself up about it, though. As soon as Christmas is over, though, it’s back on the wagon for me. Carbs really ARE addictive. I’ve finally come up with a recipe for white bread that is low carb, but tastes as close to the real thing as possible. If anyone wants the recipe, pm me.
Congrats,Have you worn a rut in that condo floor yet.
Congrats, man. I too have been trying to get myself in shape after too many sedentary office chair years... it takes some willpower and determination to get started and keep with it. Good for you!
It always settles back down, though.
Eating lower carb keeps you from constantly feeling hungry.
Congratulations on the wonderful new you!
My wife and I completely agree. Carby foods leave you feeling like you didnt eat anything useful. Our brains notice the rush of sugar and its uncomfortable. And, yes, you feel like eating a bunch more of all the stuff that has little (or no) actual nutrition
.
I agree about carbs. I like to say in food, anything white is bad. Bread, flour, sugar, potatoes, rice, pasta, etcetera, etcetera.
Good Deal! Congratulations! We all have confidence in you to do this!
